I had an appointment to install my car alarm, and had to wait a couple of hours until the installation was done, so I went on a, search for a place to have lunch, and, serendipitiously, stumbled upon Hershey's. I got there a couple of minutes before they opened, but I was invited to wait in one of their outside tables. It gave me some time to look around the place. Hershey's is tucked away in a semi-industrial area of Gaithersburg, right across the railroad tracks. It has a lovely patio outside, which I am sure would be great in the summer months. The establishment is primarily a local watering hole with a well-stocked bar that also serves a limited but substantial menu. The dishes seem to be influenced by Southern cooking. There are multiple tables, which by the time I left were busy with local patrons. Following what is usually my preference, I sat at the bar. I ordered one of their beers on tap, Kona, which was refreshing. I ordered one of their fried chicken platters, the two-piece white, which came with two sides, and mine were fried okra and coleslaw. There is a 25 minute wait whenever you order fried chicken, because it is fried "a la minute" (to order), and that meant receiving a wonderful plate of freshly fried chicken that was shateringly crispy outside and juicy and moist on the inside. The chicken was well seasoned, and so where the crispy fried okra. The servings were generous! I want also mention the wonderful service I got at the bar, where I appreciated the conversation with the bartender. Hershey's was a little gem that deserves to be visited more than once! I did not want to leave out that they also have live music and dancing on the weekends!

Hershey’s Restaurant offers a cozy and intimate dining experience, with personalized service and attention to detail. While the menu may be limited, customers can appreciate the quality and freshness of the dishes. One of the standout features of Hershey’s Restaurant is the attention to detail in the service. Waitstaff often go above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed and taken care of. The atmosphere is often relaxed and inviting, with a focus on making customers feel at home. The menu at a small restaurant may be limited, but it is often carefully curated to offer a range of dishes that showcase the best of what the restaurant has to offer. I appreciated the use of fresh and high-quality ingredients, as well as the attention to detail in the preparation of each dish. The ambiance of Hershey’s Restaurant is cozy and intimate, with a focus on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Decor is a rustic or vintage feel with simple and understated furnishings. Overall, Hershey’s Restaurant offers a unique and personalized dining experience that is perfect for those looking for something a little different. While the menu may be limited, the quality and attention to detail make up for it, and the personalized service and cozy atmosphere are sure to leave a lasting impression.

My friends band played this past Saturday night and no one warned the staff that it would get crowded. Ok so I can't comment on the normal turn around time for food. Not an easy location to find. Have lived in the area a long time and had never been to this part of Gaithersburg. My Google maps got me there no problem but almost drove by it. Parking is limited. Now on to the experience. When the waiter asked about drinks, I asked for a wine list. The waiter told me they only have house. When I asked what it was he said it was not the best, I could have red or white. I said I needed to rethink my choice. After that I knew the type of food to expect. Apparently there signature dish is their fried chicken (earning them a 4 star rating) and there menu is very chicken heavy. Being a vegan I ordered chicken tenders with honey mustard for my 5 year old, fries, hush puppies and a Modelo for me (didnt have Dos Equis). The chicken tenders looked dry but my 5 year old didn't care. The fries were OK but the organic ketchup was weird; tasted better with the honey mustard. The hush puppies were clearly a box mix. Ice cream shop was closed so no comment on that. Not a place I would recommend to any foodies but for a BASIC meal and drinks it was alright.

It pains me to write this review, but I thought I would let people know about the decline of the food and service (though no fault of the service staff). We have been going to this place for years, and yes, the food has been great most of the time, and the service depends on how busy they are. We go about once a week. In the past several weeks, we have noticed a significant decline in the food quality. The meals have been cold, and meats (chicken, steak, salmon) have been overcooked and dry. In one case, my wife ordered the chicken tender salad, and the tenders came out raw. I decided to write this review because of our visit on 1/24/24 for dinner. My wife ordered the salmon with fries and a side salad. I ordered the steak with mashed potatoes with gravy and cole slaw. My wife's salmon was significantly overcooked and dry, and cold fries. My steak was extremely dry and tough; the mashed potatoes and gravy were ice cold. I hesitated to order them because I have yet to have them come out hot, but I wanted to try again. They are incredibly understaffed as they have one waitress for the entire side of the restaurant, which was completely full primarily due to a large party (I counted 16 people) occupying one of the three sections on that side of the restaurant. There have been large dinner parties the two times we have been to Hershey's. I am not sure why people think this is a place for a party of more than ten people, as the restaurant's size is not conducive to large parties. Lastly, the menu has not been updated for several years, and they never have specials. The management needs to add new items to the menu or start having specials again. Also, staff the dinner time with more than one waitress. It will be a long time until we...

I’ve been to this place on several occasions. Today was by far the absolute worst experience in a restaurant I’ve ever had. Vicki the “manager” accosted me for sitting with the hired band I was here to see. Then proceeded to bad mouth me to another member of the staff. When I asked for the manager imagine my surprise when this rude human told me that was her. I’m here to see a band and order some food (which is decent here at best.) I was told to leave the table I was seated at with the band. Then when I came back in at the prescribed time I was refused any table where I could actually see the band. Absolutely horrendous service from this sad excuse for a manager. I will be speaking to the owner. If this travesty is not corrected I will never come back here. And I will advise all of my friends to not come here as well.

To be absolutely clear it’s 9:15 PM on a Friday night in a tiny little restaurant most people don’t even know exists. This place is mostly frequented by elderly people, and those have already gone home. At this time of evening anyone here is likely here for the live music. To refuse to seat paying customers in the performance area is unacceptable at best. Frankly, small family owned places like this is going down. You’d think with the plethora of vastly higher quality establishments they’d offer better service here. My money spends just as well at some corporate owned franchise as it...
