I visited this hibachi place because it had good reviews on Google (4.1 stars), but after my experience, I’m starting to question the authenticity of those reviews. This is easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. It’s more of a casual fast-food spot where you order at the counter, the food is made, and then you pick it up when it’s ready. It’s not the traditional hibachi experience where they cook in front of you.
I ended up throwing away most of my meal because it was so disappointing. I ordered hibachi, sushi, and boba, and everything tasted stale. The fried rice looked brown but lacked any real flavor, as though it wasn’t cooked in soy sauce or anything else to give it depth. I think they just used coloring to make it brown. The boba pearls were hard and unappetizing.
To make matters worse, the restaurant itself was dirty, with food splatter stains on the walls, and the bathroom was in poor condition. It even doubled as a supply closet with ladders and chairs stored in there.
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel like I need to share my experience. The high rating here is misleading, and I want to help others avoid the same disappointment. Save your money and try...
Read moreThis is an update to a great review at the beginning of 2016. Unfortunately this place has declined within the year or this updated review would not be. We visited for dinner on 17 Oct to after not visiting in about two months. Everything seemed normal until we sat down and noticed the store was not as clean as we have always seen it. It wasn't filthy just little things that were not wiped clean. Received our food in a timely manner and looked and smelled as it always has but but tasted off. It was still delicious just not to par. what broke the camels back was the fountain machine. I have never seen the machine with half the drinks out of order until then. To aggravate the matter when I poured a drink there were ants in the nozzle and ended up in my cup(6 or 7). I informed the woman behind the counter who was more than courteous. Her response is the repairman cleans the machine? So when was it last cleaned if half the machine is broke? Aggravating since this is a staff function to clean the machine...
Read moreVoted most likely to give me food poisoning. HALFWAY through my meal I started googling how to report to AACounty Health Dept.
Restaurant/ service? Cold, dirty. I served myself in BTW the cashier cooking and answering the phone. RESTAURANT HAD NO HEAT IN 40 DEGREE WEATHER.
GYOZA- mystery meat. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT WAS.
SUSHI- didn't smell bad. However I heard the man making sushi rolls start to cough and sneeze. When I turned my head he was in the process of rolling someone's sushi dinner. UGHHHHH. Both he and the cashier turned to look at me.
THE SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL WAS MORE BATTER THAN SHRIMP. I GUESS CRUNCHIES?
Cashier jumped on the skillet and stove multiple times while man was rolling raw sushi. NO ONE WASHED their hands.
GROSS. I prayed I wouldn't get sick or food poisoning. I washed my meal down with soapy tasting, boiling hot miso soup which I can only hope killed whatever bacteria might have been brewing.
10/10 do...
