Iron Rooster - Hunt Valley — Restaurant in Maryland

I stopped here for breakfast on my way to Pennsylvania and I had a very strange experience. The waiters were very nice but I found the service to be awful. Since I was by myself I had opted to sit at the bar because I did not want to wait. I sat at the bar, waiter number one comes over, very nice and polite. He noticed I had a strange look on my face because the bar needed to be wiped down. It appeared it wasn't wiped off, I assumed after a previous customer (at least I hoped that was the case) nonetheless, the waiter asked what was wrong after noticing the look on my face with a rag in his hand( so he know the bar needed to be wiped down. I kindly said the bar needs to be wiped down as he simultaneously said the same thing. He wiped the bar down then asked if he could get me something to drink. again, he was very polite. I order ed an (Unsweet Tea with a side of lemons). he brought it over to me and said he would be back to take my order. I began to look over the menu and in the meantime customers came and sat on both sides of me. another waiter came and attended to them. I watched as she took their orders and got their drinks and placed their silverware in front of them. she noticed I had been sitting there a while and she asked have I ordered yet because the first waiter never came back. she politely took my order and put it in for me. She also knew the first waiter was waiting on me. i watched has he walked around to server others outside the bar when there were other waiters doing that as well. I was ok with that, assuming he would soon come back to me. A few minutes later, another young man brought my food to me a slid it to me versus placing it in front of me as he had done everyone else. Now remember, I'm sitting at the bar where he could have easily stood in front of me and handed me my food. The first waiter finally comes back in the bar but doesn't come over to me (The one who was supposed to be taking my order) He turns to look in my direction and I waved at him and motioned to him to bring me some utensils so I could eat my food. He brings over the utensil and asked is everything ok, I politely said no but I really don't want to get into it because I'm hungry and got to go. He insist because he could tell I was not happy. Therefore I explained to he How he never came back to take my order, i pointed out how the customers beside me were waiting for their food with drinks and utensils in front of them were i had to ask for mines. I also informed how my food was slid to me and everyone else food was placed in front of them. He gave excuse after excuse, very politely may I add because i was calm but the service was terrible. A grade F for sure! I hope management sees this review and take in consideration the things i pointed out. The food was ok, the environment was ok, but the service...

Well today’s visit was horrible and apparently got kicked out. Entered around noon so expected a wait and was told 10 min. That’s fine considering it’s 12 on a Saturday. Go to table not even 3 min later host takes the utensils and I said we need them and a kids menu. “You need a kids menu?” Yes for the kid. I get it but at that point you saw both of us. Fine no problem. Asked server if it’s the same online cause I had no issues looking at my phone for it. They came and placed it fine thanks. Server came back are you ready? No we just got menus we need a min 30 seconds later ready now? Just had my kid order his juice 30 seconds later are you ready? I said I was aggravated but before I could say I’ll flag you down I need a minute they took the menu away was hit with it and the manager no where near us said that never happened and kicked us out. Being a regular here for ages and that’s how you treat people. Well I’m sorry if I was trying to say I need a minute cause I’m aggravated meant anything but since they didn’t ask if they could take the menus away they just did it made me a paying regular upset then fine. Not hurting me. I don’t have to drive 30 min to this location I can go to the horrible one in canton that isn’t as good as your location 10 min from me. At least there they give people time to look at the menu and take a breather. Maybe next time when somebody says they are aggravated and still trying to speak to let them. All I was trying to tell the server since it wasn’t their fault other than coming to the table every 30 seconds like they had somewhere to be was to give the table time. You aren’t fast food and it felt like today was a rush day. That’s fine. Can’t wait to see what the manager who wasn’t close to the table says in response. It never happened is what he will say since he wasn’t even there. I came in like usual and no issues and couldn’t even be given two minutes to look at the menu or just calm my self but no.

Mike is an amazing person! He was super friendly, tentative and patient. Food was great as well. When I come back I will be requesting him! Only Mike I was told. Amazing...
