Came for lunch on a Saturday so they were pretty dead. Server was nice and our food came out quickly. The TVs in the booth were nice but there were was little variety to choose from (choices were sports, nick Jr, or 1 movie channel). The food was just ok. Mine tasted like a frozen Bertoulli pasta from the grocery store, even had the same texture of the sauce! The portions were small and the prices were quite inflated for what one actually gets. The dessert tasted freezer burnt. Unlike something made more recently, it didn't come out hot and soft, but instead lukewarm and hard, like it had been thrown in a microwave after being frozen. I was sorely disappointed by everything here. The whole experience was overpriced mediocrity. We used to like Greene Turtle but after this, I wouldn't recommend and won't be back.

Little did I know that The Greene Turtle 🐢 has over 20+ Maryland locations! It opened its first spot in 1976 (the year I was born, don’t tell nobody) in Ocean City, Maryland. In 1981, college buddies Steve Pappas and Tommy Dickerson bought Ocean City English-style pub, The Greene Turtle, and transformed it into a beloved sports bar. Growing up in Baltimore, the “Turtle” became our go to place for burgers & fries, later on beer and hanging out with friends. Flash forward to 2021, it still holds its own with great service, tasty menus and solid boozy beverages (new fav is the Lavender Cosmo that Sam mixed up for me at their Hunt Valley location). Huge bar, friendly staff, pool tables, BIG game room with lots of space. We adore the green turtle!

I ordered the cajun chicken pasta. Besides the burned pasta noodles the taste was terrible. No seasoning whatsoever, nothing is cajun about this pasta. I literally just ate the mushrooms and some of the pretzel bread and the rest was a waste (mushrooms weren't even seasoned). I love pasta but this is the first time I have been to a Green Turtle restaurant and at this point I'm afraid to try anything else. On a positive note, the waitress who billed me out was definitely hustling between tables and noticed I was just standing around because I hadn't been helped yet. She helped me as quickly as she could and was kind. That's the only reason I gave this 2 stars. Also side note the floors were really sticky all over for me being there at noon.

It all comes down to service - or a lack thereof. We arrived at 6:15pm on a Thursday looking for a quick bite. We were greeted at the hostess station and quickly seated. It took 15 minutes before anybody came to our table. When the waitress arrived she was pleasant and took our drink orders. It took 21 minutes for us to get our drinks. We almost got up and left. I sat there in disbelief trying to determine the cause of the slow service. The restaurant was not busy with only four seated tables. The bar was quite busy but had multiple wait staff working there. The booth next to us was being served by a different waiter. He seemed to come and go frequently while we would never see our waitress. Our waitress came to take our food order 45 minutes after we arrived! A couple was seated in the booth next to us and I began to time their interactions (being quite bored and agitated at this point). The waiter came over immediately to introduce himself and took their drink orders. He returned 2:37 later with their drinks. He took their food order and disappeared. He checked in on them frequently. Our food arrived and the order was incorrect so the waitress had to retrieve the correct items. By now we were all completely frustrated. The food for the booth next door arrived just a few minutes later. It was obvious the kitchen wasn't too backed up. I saw what I believed to be a manager walking the floor and waived him over. I expressed our dissatisfaction with the speed of the service. He apologized for the wait and said he would talk to her. I told him that I was not looking for compensation, and that I just wanted to make him aware so that they could handle any training or operational issues. It took us just under 2 hours to from entry to exit. Not what we had planned. The food itself was mediocre. At the end of the day this was a miserable experience and I could not recommend...

Aah, American Sports Bars. Loud, busy, and usually pretty fun.

When doing reviews, I review the exact location as opposed to a reflection of the company itself. I think it's important to differentiate local opportunities as opposed to an overall brand image.

Anyway, the food selection is pretty average (as expected!) Some crab dishes, burgers, and various chicken dishes.

Fries were absolutely fantastic, buffalo chicken sandwich I ordered wasn't particularly spicy (unfortunately! ) but chicken was juicy and flavorful.

The desert options were great. My table ordered a combination of Monkey Bread, an order of Chocolate Lava Cookie, and funnel cake fries. All were great!

The selection is cocktails were also excellent, and between the fresh fruit lemonade and margaritas, I was extremely impressed!

The reason this didn't get a higher rating is frankly because of the wait. As a former retail employee I definitely understand the pitfalls of scheduling and employee reliability.

However, surprisingly for a Sunday evening it did not appear to be a problem of it being too busy. However I cant speak for how many cooks were on duty, and this may have been the underlying issue.

Regardless, a wait of about 10 minutes before being assigned a waiter/waitress and a wait of about 40 minutes for food was quite extreme.

Like I said, if the place was bustling I would not even thought twice. But it was pretty dead. Fortunately the waiter was so very kind and apologized profusely. All of the staff we interacted with was incredibly nice.

Overall, the food was good, but nothing in particular I'd seek out. Dessert and drinks were fantastic. Service was also wonderful. The wait was incredibly long.

3/5, would revisit another time to do...

Horrible horrible experience here on Father’s Day! The restaurant was empty yet were seated in the same section as the only other table occupied because all of the tables the host tried to utilize were not bussed. The other table has 12 people, and we did not get greeted no less served for a long time-at least 15-20 minutes- and neither did the 12 top. Someone from that group hunted the manager down, and she came back all flustered and profusely apologized—TO THEM! Then she offered to take care of them personally, and comp their entire check! As she left the section, I let her know that WE had not been served either, and she said she’d send someone over. We watched this other table get white glove service, yet we had a kid—either new or overextended, but we really don’t know how since no one was there- we never saw. Our food took forever, and was not correct—most likely because the order for the 12 at the other table went in first. After we had eaten the manager came over and apologized, and offers us 2 free desserts (there were 6 at our table) Hmmmmm—full check for 12 and personalized service vs. 2 desserts and poor service for 6. We will NEVER come here again, and it’s a shame because my adult sons really enjoy it. There are so many good options in the area. The management was terrible, she clearly had no clue as to what was going on in the establishment she was being paid to oversee! The lack of bussed tables in a nearly empty empty restaurant is ridiculous. I would stay away, go to Outback, Carrabbas, Texas Roadhouse, Hightopps…..anywhere else, there’s tons to choose from...
