Looney's Pub in Fulton, Md was a favorite place years ago while working in the area. This was my return visit and it's changed a little since my last visit. The immediate thing I noticed is it's no longer a full Redskins location and now is a cross between Redskins and Ravens. I'm not sure if that's the fan base moving into the area or the losing record of the Redskins over the years. I made it just in the middle of Happy Hour which had a small crowd that seem to move in and out fast during this time period. The bar was full and the side tables were empty. I was told they are on Reservations for the Trivia Night activities @ 7:30 pm. This was challenging as I was meeting friends on business and needed an area to complete the deal. I took the high top table near the entry door and agreed to move @ 7:30 pm. The focus seemed to be on the Trivia Night more than customer service with customers willing to spend money immediately. I wouldn't let this turn me or anyone away as they have a great location with good food in the past. It's been some time and I wanted XX beer and it wasn't available. I ended up with Stella and the beer was cold and good with the large orders of wings we ordered while going over our business plans. The Honey Old Bay and Spicy BBQ were our picks and they delivered on taste, presentation and price. We were asked to move @ 7:30 pm and it seemed they didn't have a place for us to move to for some time. We had to close our tab and then wait to move to another location. This wasn't a great moment and challenged my review from being a 5 star review. The trivia night has a huge following and if you are into trivia this would be a great place to check your skills. The teams seem solid and there may be room for additional teams on Tuesday. Maryland had a men's basketball game going this evening as well and for some reason the pub wasn't able to show the game. I wide open to coming on NFL game day to see how the 1/2 Redskins 1/2 Ravens bar would work on game day @ 1 pm. Looney's is still a great place to come watch sports, trivia, drink beer or any cocktail of your choice. I will return and try a few other things on the menu next time. Like any other sports bar you will have your positive and negative for various reasons. Looney's has held strong through the reviews, times and changes to remain a really great place to stop by anytime. I'm inviting you to visit this location on your next trip to Laurel or...
Read moreMy entire experience was HORRIBLE. I went to looneys last night with a group of people around 7:00pm. We sat for awhile about until 10:30pm. Once we arrived we got a table and a young man came over to us and asked what we wanted. Because I knew we would be drinking the entire night I made sure to tip 20$ immediately because as a waitress I understand the frustration that comes with running back and forth with a big party. After tipping him he brought us one set of drinks and that was all. Another man dropped off our food and our waiter didn’t bother to check on us so long we never got to order dinner only our appetizer. I became more and more frustrated considering I had tipped prior and been more then kind and patient, not to mention the two girls that also worked there had decided to have a drink after their shift and were clearly looking over at me and my friend giggling acting like children and saying god knows what. Joe B our waiter (from looking at the name on our check) then comes over a little before 8 and says “my shift is ending I’m not trying to stay I’m gonna bring you guys your checks” after barley coming over and the bus boys being kinder and more helpful this didn’t shock me. Then joe proceeds to go over to another table and “whisper” and say “you guys are fine” telling another table he will continue to wait on them. After my entire group tips over 20% plus the 20$ I had given him prior I’m furious and cannot understand what his issue is, I looked around to make sure no one had been out of line which no one had and couldn’t even have the chance to because he only served us on drink. After printing our checks out taking our money a little before 8pm Joe proceeds to wait on every other table until 9:30pm. I have gone out before and because of the age similarities (being in our 20’s) I understand there is a more calm relationship between customer and waiter then if we were older but to have no issue taking our money, talk about how he would wait on them but “whispering” thinking I wouldn’t hear, and never checking on us I will never come to looneys again. Food was fine drinks were fine, but for tipping plenty being more then respectful and being blatantly disrespected is ridiculous and doesn’t encourage me to ever go to this place again....
Read moreHERE WE GO AGAIN!! One more horribly RACIST establishment that treats blacks VERY DISRESPECTFULLY!! The place is 98% Caucasian this includes staff, and clientele. When you enter waiting to be seated, they first continuously walk by not even acknowledging your presence. My husband said, we should have left right then. I insisted we stay since a neighbor not (AA), said they had good food, and it is right in my backyard. So, about 1 week ago here we are. It took 40 mins. to get food that was cold and medium to well done steaks came out still mooing. They did not even try to do what was asked. The manager on duty that evening "Ashley" was so unconcerned it was pathetic. Apologized after I approached her when we were leaving. I then call in and speak with a very poor excuse of a general manager "Sherry" , who first begin to make excuses for the staff and then after some push back from me, offered a $25 gift card. Well, we decide to try them again, (in my backyard remember), lo and behold this experience was even WORST than the 1st. My sister was served a baked potato that was completely brown on the INSIDE. My daughters burger was so overcooked it was completely black and crunchy?? We asked for the kitchen manager, who came out and said those were OLD potatoes and should have not been served. He went on to say, since he had received 3 meals back for being under cooked he just decided to add extra cooking time to all of them. He acknowledged it was his fault and should not have done that. I now call "SHERRY" (the racist general manager) AGAIN! I asked her had she heard about our 2nd dining experience. She said she was sent an email by the shift manager that evening, and has decided my family and I could not be pleased so GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND EAT and HUNG UP! Well, needless to say you horrible racist pathetic establishment, we will take our BLACK money and go else where and make certain EVERY AA we know do not dine there. Clearly not that you would mind since it is clear you do not want us there anyway. We apologize for being a people and speaking up when you want to serve us garbage for food and feel put upon if we dare...
