My fiancé hyped this restaurant’s Pupusas to me and I finally gave in and dined in with him and I brought my mom expecting much better.
Location is weird enough on the side of a building with paid parking - another turn off.
We got there and we were greeted kindly. We weren’t escorted to a table - we were just told to find one.. (kinda rude.)
Then - we finally order and they bring us out the horchata. Watery, too much ice on top of it being watery, and they gave me the large without asking. Very pricey at $5 for the smallest large I’ve ever seen. We waited almost an hour for our food. Pupusas and Fried Calamari. The curtido, salsa and the “red sauce” that came with the Pupusas and Calamari was so disappointing. Definitely no love put into it.
The Horchata was disgusting to be blunt - I ordered a Sprite. It never came after 15 minutes and I had to eat my Pupusas without a drink. I finally had to get the attention across the room from another waitress for my drink and then it came to the table.
The calamari was ok. I was just really hungry and ate that. I didn’t finish the Pupusas. Mediocre at best.
To my great surprise, I usually tip 20% but the service was so awful today and they decided to add their own auto gratuity.
No wonder the service was garbage. They are guaranteed a percentage. I won’t be returning. A waste of $65. I could’ve supported a better restaurant.
When we paid, I got the coldest dismissal from the waitress as well. No goodbye, nothing.
This restaurant does NOT put the customer first. Super mediocre food, gross Horchata and AWFUL service.
Edit: I just realized the awful waitress never gave us chips and salsa while waiting.. 0:10 would not recommend...
Read moreIf I could rate 0 stars I would, but most and for all, we order 2 carne asadas we specifically asked to be well done, because my mother just had a baby and has to be careful with what she eats, we got home and the steak was raw and bloody, so I called and the guy at the front desk told me to go back and change, one of the ladies asked what we needed and I explain to her, I nicely asked if they could give me a different steak like a new one, and she started to get Avery nasty attitude even when I explained to her why I need it a new steak for my mother. The plate is rice, pico de Gallo, steak and plantains when we returned the plates it had rice steak and pico de Gallo, when we got the new plates, I asked the lady if she changed the steaks, she said yes and when I got to my car and looked in the plates there was no pico the Gallo only rice and steak, and the steak was the same that we returned, I don’t feel like arguing with the staff members so I just decided to write a review, I have been ordering from los chorros for more than 2 years and I’ve had many of this similar situations please to whoever is In change please talk to your workers because I’ve worked at restaurants and know what kind of things and the training required to deal with customers, and they clearly don’t have that because they went to the back and talked bad about how we wanted them to change the food, it’s not fair, because for two plates they charged me $41. Dollars and some change, price is way too high for food quality and customer service, I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend due to my experiences feel free to give me your answer to my review.
Thank you
Sincerely:...
Read moreI've been eating here since around 2015 because I love the food. It's been a local favorite of mine and even after I moved a little further away, and then COVID-19, I kept buying with Uber Eats for delivery.
Recently I've been paying more attention to Uber Eats as it seems they have been grossly overcharging for meals when ordered through their app - I'm talking $2-$10 per meal at some locations (compared to the restaurant price; this is in addition to their service and delivery fees). So when we decided to get take-out this time we just called the restaurant directly and utilized their online menu.
In calling them directly, THEY OVERcharged our three plate meal by $8, just because we called and didn't order in person. When we asked why we were overcharged they blamed Uber Eats. When we told him it wasn't purchased through Uber Eats, that we called them directly and referenced their own menu, he said that's just what they charge now for take-out orders placed over the phone.
Not once did they give us a disclaimer about this charge. It isn't listed online. And there's no reference to it in their online menu. They refused to give us our food for menu price despite the fact that we picked it up directly. To add insult to injury, they overcharged even more than Uber Eats.
We will be reporting this to the BBB. I don't recommend this place any longer due to their shady business practices. It's a shame since I've been a loyal customer there for so long, and I'll miss the food. But I won't support a business who participates in misleading advertisements and dishonest business...
