This McDonald's location is exceptionally adequate. It truly pays homage to the original idea of McDonald's where brothers Maurice and Richard McDonald opened the first McDonald's in 1940 in San Bernardino, California, originally as a barbecue drive-in with carhops. In 1948, they revamped the business to produce high volumes of food at low prices, creating the Speedee Service System. While this McDonald's does not sell barbecue nor do they have carhops, they do offer marginal food with the classic quick service the company's foundation was bedrocked in. I would purchase food from this McDonald's again, especially around the holidays where they serve a custard filled holiday pie. That menu item is the finest piece of culinary excellence to ever grace the counter of any McDonald's. The McDonald's Holiday Pie was first introduced in 1999 as a promotional item for the movie "Toy Story 2". It's a seasonal item, typically available during the holiday season, featuring a vanilla custard filling in a buttery crust, topped with sugar glaze and rainbow sprinkles. While initially a limited-time offer, the Holiday Pie has become a popular fan favorite and a recurring item on the McDonald's menu during the holiday season. In my opinion, this holiday themed pie saved a company that was suffering due to the McRib sandwich. The McRib was invented by McDonald's first executive chef, René Arend, in 1981. The inspiration for the sandwich came from a trip Arend took to Charleston, South Carolina, where he encountered the charm of southern barbecue, particularly pulled pork sandwiches. He then tasked his research and development team to create a barbecue-inspired pork sandwich that mimicked the look of a rack of ribs. The McRib was initially tested in Kansas City and then rolled out nationwide in 1982. While the original offering was a delight to the taste buds, the subsequent roll outs seem to have a steep decline in quality and taste. It almost seems as if McDonald's is no longer interested in serving the McRib sandwich but caves to the pressure of public outcry so they offer it at lower and lower quality in an attempt to turn the public against the once favored sandwich. All in all this McDonald's location is an adequate option for hungry customers who can not spare the time needed to attend a sit...
Read moreI have never seen a higher level of unprofessionalism that had absolutely nothing to do with the local staff. At about 9:30 on January 21st, I watched as what I am assuming were the regional and district managers coming in to speak to the local general manager. They obviously don't understand the idea of praise in public and chastise and private. They proceeded to sit down at a table and open up their conversation by mentioning how Elon musk entered Twitter and clean house by removing all the upper level management that disagreed with him. They continued to chastise the general manager about his ability to communicate with them on issues that he had agreed to and how he needed to be more professional in both his responses and understanding that he made agreements. No portion of this conversation should ever happen within. I shot of the customers nor within earshot. How can it be expected that a general manager would be able to lead his team after being so publicly ridiculed? If at any point in the time you have to have this type of conversation, ask the general manager to leave the store with you and go across the street to another establishment where your customers don't need to listen to some high school level Ego stomping of two people crying over unprofessionalism as they are being the most unprofessional...
Read moreThe staff that was in place Saturday April 8th at 8:15 a.m. were horrible. We were in line from 8:04 to 8:28 and there were only 5-6 cars ahead of me. The drive through person when she did ask for orders called Lane 1 customers three times in a row. I was finally able to switch lanes backing up because the person in front of me and behind me left. Once I got to Lane 1, someone pulled up to Lane 2 and only then did she call on that Lane. So 4-people got called before my turn.
When I finally was allowed to order I was the only car there and she literally asks me when I drove up "Did you have the......meals"? There was no one else in line, how could she be confused by that...haha.
Lastly, when I got to the pick up line, the very unprofessional lady there did not acknowledge my presence and basically handed my drinks and bag of food to me without saying a single word. I had no idea if she gave me everything I ordered or not because when she handed me the last bag, she walked away. So I had to check. It was accurate after all.
Both of these drive up window workers need additional training or should not be your Frontline staff as neither one of them have any ounce of customer service skills and for the long 25-minutes I was there 6-cars left due to the...
