First of all we have been coming to Mi Rancho for years, we have had some many great experiences from birthdays celebrations to graduation, etc. However last night (6/24/23) was the opposite. We had the most unfriendly waitress (young girl with long orange hair). First, she didn’t say hello, nor did she introduced herself, she had a sour face as if she was doing us a favor, she asked for what we wanted to drink then walked away, we ordered our food and she never came back to check on us to see if we needed refills or to check if food was okay? We had to get the attention from another staff member to get some boxes to go (btw she was actually a very nice lady). We wanted to order some desserts so we waited and waited for the server but couldn’t get her attention because she was busy flirting with all the male staff members (she was hugging them and all smiles with them) She finally showed up and placed the bill on the table, I said that we still wanted to order desserts and then she could bring the bill to which she looked unhappy but took our order. Again, after finishing our desserts we waited more than 10-15 minutes because she never came back with the bill ( again she was flirting with the bartender) so I had to go the front and asked for my bill and mentioned that the waitress had not checked on us and that we had been waiting for a while. The other waitress was friendly and offered great customer service, I wished she had been our server.
Mi Rancho should do a better job screening people when they hired them, young girls like her who offered bad customer service can ruined their business by losing their customers. I have no complaints about the food, it was delicious , but I am pretty sure I won’t be coming back any time soon.
If I could give them zero (0) stars for customer service, I would. I have worked in customer service and this type of service wouldn’t...
Read moreMy friend and I went to the Silver Spring location to grab some dinner. It was a Saturday so it was packed. We were seated right away, recieved chips MD salsa and had a very nice server. He took our drink orders, left to get our drinks, and then came back to get our dinner order very promptly.
We received our drinks, talked, watched the game and then realized that we had been waiting 20 minutes for our food. Our server came over and said that our food would be out in a minute. TWENTY FIVE minutes later he said ours was next to come out. Ten minutes later ourbfood came out. The rice was COLD, not warm, but COLD. My enchiladas were luke warm. The beans were HOT which was all I ate of my dinner at the restaurant. I called the server over and explained the problem. He apologized and said "no problem".
My friend's dinner was barely warm but he said he was hungry because he had not eaten all day so he ate his. He stated that his food was not seasoned as usual and was disappointed in his food.
My next plate was brought and while the plate was warm, the rice was still cold and the enchiladas were still barely warm. I was frustrated and just asked for a box to take my food home. I went home and put my food in the microwave and heated it. I was not expecting to have to microwave and seasoned my own food that evening. I was expecting that to be done at the restaurant.
I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen on Saturday evening but nothing was seasoned well. There were a lot of large groups there so maybe the chefs were overwhelmed and didn't take the time to season as usual?? Was our server overwhelmed and forgot about our food allowing it to get cold?? I won't be going back on a Saturday night again.
I was very disappointed with them. I am here often so to have been given the food I was given on Saturday was...
Read moreThis place does not even deserve one star! I went there today with my sister for happy hour. We ordered a pitcher of melon margarita which was awful!!!! It tasted like syrup. We moved on to sangrias for some hopeful redemption. In the meantime they had complementary chips and salsa. We placed our food order and I also ordered guacamole to come out as an appetizer. The guacamole was not fresh! It was so creamy and tasted pre-made as from a package and not made in house fresh. The only chunks in it were tuns of chopped onions and tomatoes. I asked the waiter if it was made fresh and what were the ingredients. Something in my two bites of it was immediately not agreeing with me. The waiter asked if I liked it. I said no and he said no problem and took it away. Great problem somewhat solved. So then a manager, who proclaimed to be the owner comes over angrily with the guacamole and say I insulted him! Jose Alvarez owner of Mi Rancho Silver Spring, MD. I replied that I should be insulted. Not only was the guacamole not fresh or good. As an owner instead of having a dialogue or trying to make things right you yell and be-raid me in the middle of the restaurant as I'm sitting down to still enjoy my time there. Never will I go here again or recommend such an establishment that does not value good customer service nor good or well prepared food and drinks. Then they had the nerve to send out another bowl of guacamole. If the first bowl was so good and made right why would you send out another bowl?! I told the waiter never have I had such an experience. I had him cancel our entire pending order and we paid our tab and left. The owner continued to approach me ans argue to defend himself. Offering to show me receipts of purchasing fresh avocados. It was very bizarre. I still feel very sick...
