I recently had lunch on Sunday afternoon. I don;t normally write reviews but I'm making an exception in the hopes that this restaurant improves the quality of the food, cleans the restaurant, and keeps in cleaned.
It appeared as though the serving area had not been cleaned for hours, although there was an attendant there almost continuously overseeing the area. The dining area was filthy, so was the washing station. And the bathroom was awful. A little cleaning and attention can go a long way to make the right impression on a first time customer.
I was with a party of four and none of us found the brunch buffet appealing because there were six choices and all of them looked sloppy. So we order off the "menu." One person in our group asked for eggs and while they had scrambled eggs available on the buffet, we were told no other eggs were available because it was after 11:30. Frankly, you cannot have a kosher dairy restaurant and expect people will not want to order eggs after 11:30 on a Sunday. And in any event, be flexible and accommodate customers as opposed to refusing to take their order for eggs on a...
Read moreDon't look for fancy, just look for good. Most of what's on the menu you could make at home but it's better when someone else does it, and they've got great 'comfort food' (potuna melt being my go-to; generous scoop of tuna on a fluffy hot baked potato with a slice of good ol American cheese). There are some must-haves, including the chocolate shake and the cream of broccoli soup. Don't try to buy enough soup -- you can't. A cup is filling, but, you want more. My wife and I just polished off a quart, which is too much, and, we want more. It is just good. The prices are very reasonable, the food is always what you'd expect or better, the new(ish) proprietors are at least as friendly and efficient as the mom&pop owners they bought it from. The dining set-up is even more basic than the menu, but it's always clean, rarely cramped, nothing rickety or broken, and doesn't detract from the delicious, filling, hot, quick,...
Read moreWhen this business was taken over, they broke something fundamental in Baltimore. I don't know if they changed the recipe in a sad attempt to fix what didn't need fixing, but I'm from out of town and the Mac & Cheese from Milk & Honey Bistro has been a staple of my childhood and now adulthood.
My family would order pans upon pans on every visit and it was a must-have when visiting Bmore.
But ever since the new ownership, this classic dish has been terribly different. Sorely missing the old fullness of favor and richness in texture. No longer was the delight and euphoria of the most perfect Mac & Cheese ever known to man. My favorite dish murdered so brutally, like so many others on the cold streets of the retched Baltimore city. Shame on you, new management. RIP to what once was perfect. Another beautiful thing destroyed by liberal inexperience once...
