Here's what happened:
My family came to Morgan's this afternoon for lunch. (A party of four.) We were greeted and seated by a woman with a long blond ponytail...so far, so good. However, it went downhill quickly from there. After a very long wait--perhaps 10-15 minutes or so, a young man finally came to our table. He did not greet us, he simply said, "Do you want anything to drink, or are you OK?" I replied to him that yes, of course we wished to order drinks, after all, it was near 90 degrees outside! We gave him our drink orders, and were about to ask if we could go ahead and place our food order, but he abruptly walked away. We were shocked!
When he returned with our drinks, we placed our orders. Again, he walked away without a word... When our food was delivered, he placed my sister's plate in front of her, then reached over her, across the table and handed me my plate rather than place it in front of me. The plate was exceptionally hot, and I said "Ooow! That's HOT!! Yikes!" I said this in a friendly way, while smiling and looking directly at him--but he never even responded...not a word! I believe it is customary to warn a customer when a hot plate is handed to them, and better yet, don't hand it, make the extra effort to place it--and if by some chance the customer gets burnt, at least inquire if they are OK, or apologize! Again, shocked!!
The waiter's name was Gavin, (my son asked him,) and he was incredibly insolent AND inefficient. Please believe me that I DO NOT make an accusation of that magnitude lightly or without warrant.
He never returned to our table even once to check on us. My son "flagged him down" to ask for drink refills, and finally the check. We paid him, and yes, we even left him a 15 percent tip... Believe me, it was begrudgingly!! (However, we were too polite to leave any less--and he did DESERVE less.)
He never said thank you, or any other word of pleasantry; not even a tiny little smile---Conversely, he was terribly rude. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and in the hour or so that we were there, a few more tables were seated, but it was not busy. When we left, neither Gavin nor the blond woman spoke to us--no thank you for coming, hope you enjoyed it, see you again, or anything!!
I was SO disappointed in this luncheon. The food was OK--not writing you to criticize the food--but the service was probably the rudest I have ever experienced. Everyone at our table felt the same way. We are professional, educated, nice folks--not pretentious, or expecting more than is reasonable... SLOW service is one thing, and sometimes it cannot be helped, but mean spirited-ness and rudeness can ALWAYS be helped, and should never be a part of the hospitality business!!
LASTLY, I emailed the manager and received NO RESPONSE!! Morgan's obviously does not care if their customers are...
Read moreHORRIBLE....we used to be regulars but slowly this place has gone down hill. Our last visit we walked out after barely touching our micro-waved filet mignon.
Server was barely audible as in he spoke in a whisper in an already loud restaurant(noise doesn't bother me because the food was always delicious). We were never served bread or even our sodas and we literally sat there. Eventually the drinks arrived but we again asked for bread and were told it had to be cooked but we observed tables who arrived after us all being served bread. BTW I ordered a salad with anchovies which is an uncharge and I got one small anchovie on my tiny salad.(they were never this small)
I got a bad feeling and told my husband something doesn't feel right because the food was taking so long to come out. When our "medium rare" filets came out they were gray in color and very dry looking. When I cut into mine it was steaming hot and gray which is indicative of a piece of meat that is microwaved vs. grilled. It was gray all the way through the meat.
We tracked down the manager stated our displeasure and left.....we did get our bread as we were leaving!
Go somewhere else its not...
Read moreDelicious food, super friendly service, and amazing deep fried (in cake batter!) Oreos.
I got the Maryland shrimp salad wrap, which was very light and delicious. We tried coconut shrimp and seared tuna as appetizers. Both were absolutely delicious. I also got to sample a seared tuna salad, which again was fantastic and had a great selection of dressings. I also stole some fries from the person next to me and they were top notch.
The desserts were absolutely wonderful. Deep fried Oreos may sound gross, but these were Oreos fried in a cake batter that made them quite pillowy and delicious. Not as heavy as one would think!
My sister got creme brulee, and two other people at the table got creme brulee cheesecake! They customized a small dessert for my dad.
The wait staff was utterly amazing. Super friendly folks. Good food.
I only managed to take a photo of the deep fried Oreo! I should have taken more pictures as the tuna and coconut shrimp were...
