A very good and delicious all-vegan place, and accessible for people who cannot eat gluten or corn.
The fries are great, the burgers I've had (BBQ and cheese) were great, and they provide free sauces with delivery. It's a good variety that we were surprised we received since we didn't ask for but nonetheless enjoyed, on top of packet ketchup that's also very tasty and corn-syrup free.
This place is good if you have a limited diet, because you can have a gluten free Beyond patty wrapped in swiss chard, and their onion 'bloomies' are gluten free and battered with rice flour (though not listed on the menu, I called and confirmed). This is the case for both the bloomies and the fried onions that come on the BBQ burger. Their food also appears to be corn-free.
Their menu--at least on DoorDash--is a little unclear in a few ways, including the aforementioned gluten free fried onions not being marked gluten-free, and that their 'OATasty' ice cream description is a bit unclear about it being a milkshake.
I would personally like to see an expanded selection of drinks for people who cannot have a lot of citrus, and just in general a more 'classic' style drink makes the diner-style meal feel more complete. Gluten free buns would also be a very appreciated addition in the future, as the swiss chard has very chewy stems and can be very messy to eat (still delicious).
It was long overdue to have some vegan diner-style comfort food in the area, and both my girlfriend and I will be ordering from here a lot. We're happy to support local vegan businesses, and the food is really delicious and pleasantly surprising with its...
Read moreThe food is phenomenal and even my boyfriend, mother, and best friend who are all non-vegan said it taste like a real beef burger. They make your food quickly and it is also consistent in taste and quality over the several times I’ve been.
However, rating 3-stars because of my experience today. I ordered through the app for pickup as I always do. Usually with every restaurant when the orders are out on a pickup rack, you find your name and grab. I looked for my name, grabbed and was ready to go when an employee yelled to get me to stop. She asked what was my name, I confirmed, and then she made me say what I ordered. After repeating my order, she starts tip-toeing to see over the counter if I’ve grabbed anything else in my other hand, thus I lift my right hand up to show her it’s my phone and car keys. At this point I realize she was not being helpful but rather acting on implicit bias. She still doesn’t believe it’s my order so I put the food down and I’m waiting for her to tell me what she needs to prove I’m not stealing. Uncomfortable to have the gaze of white customers focusing in on a potential “thief,” with me as the character. I was going to pull out my ID and realized I left it in the car (which is not necessary to pick up food). She calls in another employee to help confirm it’s my order.
Luckily the other employee was a fellow black girl with a friendly face who also seemed confused at why the initial employee was masking it complex, and reassured me INSTANTLY that I’m allowed to grab my order, without triple checking and without automatically assuming I was trying to do...
Read moreI called ahead to see if this was a place someone with celiacs and wheat allergies can eat it. It's so far, a no. I didn't even get to order anything. I called them ahead of time to confirm if I can order or eat anything or to see if there are any items to watch out for. Their online menu has no allergen information whatsoever. The person on the phone claimed everything was gluten free. Then why on the menu is there an option for gluten free swiss chard wrap? I don't even feel comfortable enough to order this food and eat it.. Beyond Meat brand itself is gluten free (this is extremely rare btw for vegan food options).. I think it is very important that when I say I cannot have gluten, to not equate that with vegan. Cuz vegan meals and restaurants are notorious for using generous amounts of gluten products in their food. With this place, the person on the phone said everything here including the buns are gluten free. The buns are not gluten free. The menu doesn't reassure me that things are gluten free or safe for me to eat, and when I called, they were a bit dismissive about it. I had to repeat it 5 times. I said I cannot eat gluten, I have celiacs disease.
I only rate it one star simply because of this customer service experience, and the lack of allergen information on the menu.
Eat here at your own risk. I for one will have to skip this place.
Edit- thank you for clarifying. I see now 2 years later the menu has...
