I may never eat a potbelly’s again. We stopped by this potbelly’s for our “first” meal from picking up our car from the Marriott (discounted airport parking). Prior to that we were rushing to catch our flight and failed to grab something to eat prior to boarding the plane, as you can imagine we were famished when we landed. We searched the nearest place to grab a bite, we initially decided to go to chipotle’s, but when we saw potbelly’s next to it…we decided on potbelly’s considering we hadn’t had it in a while. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and I ordered a “clubbie “ (which was no longer on the menu), so what used to be a $7 sandwich had now spiked to $9 (half turkey, half ham, and bacon). No drinks or chips, yet I paid $9+for a sandwich that gave me food poisoning and COVID-19 scare for TWO ENTIRE DAYS!!. When I finally mustered up the strength to reached out to my friend, she too, had been vomiting and you know what, else all night. I don’t know what went wrong, though I’ve had sandwiches at potbelly’s on multiple occasions and have never experienced such pain… I’m thankful it didn’t happen with my toddler as she loves potbelly’s as well. I tell you what…this experience will keep me away for a very long time. That $9 dollar sandwich simply wasn’t worth all the pain and agony it caused. Well, needless to say with a missed day of work and a negativeCovid-19 test later…we should’ve stuck to our...
Read morePotbelly in Linthicum Heights isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. Hell, it’s not even pretending to. It’s a sandwich joint in a strip of concrete and chain stores near BWI, where pilots, TSA agents, and weary travelers all need one thing: something hot, something honest, and something that tastes like it was made by human hands and not a committee of nutritionists.
The sandwich and soup combo here is the move. A crusty, toasted roll — the bread has that perfect chew, a little char from the press — loaded with real meats, sharp pickles, melted cheese that strings when you tear it apart. The broccoli cheddar soup, thick and unapologetic, sticks to the spoon and somehow manages to feel like an act of kindness in paper cup form. Dip the sandwich in it. Forget the etiquette. This is food that doesn’t care about your calorie count; it cares about keeping you alive and a little less miserable.
Potbelly’s décor leans toward faux‑antique Americana — tin signs, mismatched chairs, a nod to a simpler time that probably never existed — but there’s a kind of charm to it. The staff moves fast but somehow stays friendly; they know you’re hungry, and they’re not here to mess around.
You don’t come here expecting transcendence. You come here because the world outside is chaos, and for ten minutes you get a hot sandwich, a cup of soup, and a reminder that simple pleasures are...
Read moreLove potbelly food. No doubt. Stopped here for lunch on a Wednesday and used the app to order. When I checked the order board there were 12 orders on there. I looked at the walk-in line and monitored the last person in line to see how long it would take if I did not use the app. Well I was for sure still waiting when he paid but really the entire store seemed short staffed. 4 team members and could have used 6. At least 20 minutes for the line and 30 for my online order which was entered as "ASAP". Hard to justify using half my lunch hour waiting. Sure I could "learn the ropes" and order well ahead but that kinda defeats the whole "Toasted hot sandwich" thing. I really feel like they could do hundreds of dollars more during their lunch if they had the right staffing. Edit for Owners Response: So are you going to increase stafing during lunch? Your response seems geared more toward "Answer every review" rather than being truly concerned with the issue. For that I am reducing one star. Edit - 7/24/2024 Service today was better but still not up to what I have seen at other Pot Belly stores. I did not use the app today and showed up around 11:55 instead. the line did get long again and some people walked in and then walked out for one of the other options next door or...
