I've been a fan of Cinnaholic since the one in Baltimore opened several years back, so I was super excited for the opening of this Gambrills location. I tried to go on the day of the grand opening, but it was too cold and the line outside was too long. It's been a couple weeks and I thought they would've sort worked out the growing pains by now.
I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a line, and only a couple people waiting when we came in this evening. The lady in line in front of us was being extra, so it took a little while until we were able to order. I was very happy that the young lady at the register was able to quickly help me choose between two I was contemplating. They were telling people it was about a 10-15 minute wait, but we ended up waiting 20-30 minutes for our two rolls. A dozen more customers came in to order while we were waiting for ours to be done. All the seats were taken and there was lots of confusion who was in line, who was just waiting, and where to pickup online orders. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the way they were completing orders. The lady who ordered ahead of me got hers, and so hypothetically, ours should've been next, but no, ours was two or three later. Although there were 5-6 [YOUNG] employees, they were moving like sloths, with zero hustle. One of the other customer's we befriended during the wait, his wife went across the town center to Crumbl Cookie, came back with a box of fresh cookies, and we were STILL waiting when she got back. Anyway, I digress, you get the point.
FINALLY we got our rolls and took them home. I was worried they wouldn't be worthy of the long wait, but they were DELICIOUS. I had the Smores, and my husband had the Cookie Monster. Despite that they were both the same price, his had WAY more toppings than mine did, but mine was still very good. I don't have any dietary restrictions, but I appreciate that they're vegan and still so darn tasty.
Bottom line, while the cinnamon rolls are really, REALLY good, they seriously need to figure how to be more efficient and organized. Once they get that figured...
Read moreI highly recommend avoiding this business until they fix some major issues with their process, staff, and SANITATION! This is my first time coming here and the experience would have been okay even despite the long wait had my friends order not gotten "lost" or given to someone else due to the negligence of the two girls at the toppings counter. Upon asking where the order was the two girls at the counter stared and just ignored the question. After getting someone else's attention , The cashier confirmed that the order was placed but yet the (assuming) manager still needed to verify the receipt, which took a few minutes due to how busy they were. Okay that's cool. While waiting for the order to be re-made the two girls at the toppings counter (one with red hair and one with blonde hair in a ponytail) kept giving nasty looks /sideeyes to my friend and I . Due to them being children I let it slide. However, that needs to be addressed as that is TERRIBLE customer service and for what reason? Was Asking for an order that was placed that big of an inconvenience to them? Lastly, let's talk about how UNSANITARY some of the workers are. The girl with the blonde pony tail was leaning on the counter with her hair dangling over/into the toppings. Oh, and let's not forget how she grabbed her hair to tighten it with the gloves on and proceeded to go about her business. I waited a minute before asking her if she was going to change her gloves since she touched her hair , and she was very annoyed that I asked that and gave me a dirty look. Red head girl proceeded to give me nasty looks as the other girl reluctantly changed her gloves. I am in the food service industry and am a serv safe certified manager, I know that is unacceptable! Rather than leave this bad review I tried calling the phone number provided 4 times to have a conversation with the manager but the phone just continuodusly rang. I personally will not return here and would not recommend anyone...
Read moreOn a whim I decided to download an app called Too Good To Go. If you're not familiar, local restaurants use this app to sell goods they have left at the end of the day at a discount price. You generally aren't told what you're going to get- it's a surprise.
As soon as I opened the app I saw that Cinnaholic was offering a bag for $5.99. My kiddo and I decided to give it a try. We popped over to the store, and when you open the door and walk in, it smells like heaven. A woman was walking out as we were walking in, and she looked practically delirious (in a good way!) as she told us how amazing the treats were from here.
We approached the counter where a lovely, and friendly woman (and I have to say- she was legit one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life, I was like mesmerized by her!) asked how she could help us. I explained we were picking up a Too Good To Go order and she immediately had it ready for us. She was kind enough to explain to me how to mark my order as "picked up" in the app since I was new to using it, and she explained the types of goods she typically puts in the TGTG bags. She was so warm and seemed in no rush at all to end our interaction- which I found so endearing!
As we returned to our car, my kiddo began to inspect the goods. We had 3 cinnamon rolls with different toppings. They were still warm too!!! We tried a few bites from each one when we got home- and they were insanely good! They held up great in the fridge overnight, and I microwaved one for 35 second the next morning to enjoy with my coffee and it was perfectly warmed up.
On a whim I Googled the company, and I was STUNNED to read that these cinnamon buns are VEGAN. I honestly never would have known if I hadn't looked it up! I'd choose these over Cinnabon any day- I'M SERIOUS! Get yourself here to support this amazing business and enjoy some...
