Olympia Pizzeria — Restaurant in Maryland

I have been going to Olympia Pizza for at least 10 years. Maybe about once a month and I always pickup. I have never had any issues in regard to the quality of the food, nor have I ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes outside of the promised ready time. Was not very happy about a year or so ago when they started charging extra for credit cards, but at least they posted that info unlike some others in the area.

I had surgery earlier in the week and a friend emailed me a 75.00 Grubhub gift card. Yes I am somewhat acquainted with these types of services but I always pickup to ensure I don't receive cold food. Since I was not feeling up to driving I decided to try my Grubhub gift card and get a cold sub and a small pizza delivered. I scheduled my delivery for 4:30PM and I received a text and an email saying my food would be delivered between 4:30-4:40PM(I was hopeful).

So at 4:20PM we’re sitting in my living room which is only about 30 feet from my front door. At 4:30PM we move into the kitchen where I have a view of the street and I can see when the driver arrives. It’s 5PM and nothing so far so I call Olympia to see if Grubhub had picked up the food. It was confirmed and it was out for delivery. A few minutes later Olympia called me back to tell me the driver knocked, got no answer and left the food outside my door. I opened the door and saw my ice cold pizza sitting there waiting for an insect attack. BY the way it was not grubhub who delivered it was Olympia’s driver.

I was so pissed!! Called Olympia, yelled alittle, screamed alittle and told them to have ownership/management call me to try to make things right. Well yes I did get a call back within minutes, not from the owner or manager, but from the driver. He got their early, maybe tapped on my storm door, dumped the food, and off he went. If I’m guilty of one thing it was that I pre-tipped…….dumb me. If I hadn’t I can guarantee you he would have really knocked.

Never heard a word back from anyone in authority at Olympia and the only word I can use to describe them is “cowardly”. Any business that doesn’t have any problems isn’t doing any business. It’s how you handle them that makes all the difference. The management at Olympia ignores theirs.

GET THE CHICKEN PARMESAN!!! I will put this Chicken Parmesan up against any I've ever had and that includes fine dining restaurants! The chicken is so moist and juicy and perfectly breaded and literally took up the entire container! The quality of the cheese is also the best!!! Of course the sauce was delicious as well. The side salad that accompanied this was so fresh! The lettuce literally seemed like it was just picked and it was filled with red onions, cucumber, tomatoes, olives and I honestly can't remember if there was anything but it was excellent!!! I also ordered cheese on my garlic bread and it was just as delicious as everything else! We had previously had the cheese steak, cheese burger subs, and antipasta salad. I will say the same about everything...its delicious. There is pride in production here for sure!!! You can tell they truly care if you love their food! They are also very pleasant when calling in your order, they don't rush you off the phone and they repeat back your order and my orders have always been correct when I get home with them!!! I called in to order some chicken tenders w/ fries and a small cheese pizza topped w/ Pineapple and half topped w/ Jalapeños for me and my girlfriend. First of all, the girl who answered the phone didn’t even sound like she was paying attention, she laughing and talking to someone else, with that being said, I said not once, not twice, BUT THREE TIMES! I said over the phone Jalapeños, but when we got home and looked at our pizza it was pineapple and ham. Second of all, my girlfriend and I don’t eat pork. After my girlfriend calling in to just simply inform them that our order was wrong, a guy answered, being kind and apologized, but the girl who originally took our order immediately came on the phone and began yelling at my girlfriend, absolutely unacceptable and immature! I’m not letting that slide, yelling at my girlfriend, who the heck did she think she was!? I think we did find out that it was either the manager or the owner’s daughter or granddaughter.
