Rocco's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Maryland

So I went to this place several times and the first time the pizza was great but on subsequent visits I never know what the outcome is going to be with my pizza… today I go and order a pizza and the guy puts on barely any cheese… seriously such a small amount of cheese you can see through it.

There is a difference between putting a normal amount of cheese on the pizza and putting a completely insufficient amount on the pizza. I guess the guy puts less cheese than is needed on the pizza so you need to ask for extra cheese to get a normal amount of cheese or something.

Which brings me to my next point… even if I asked for extra cheese would I get it with this stingy Scrooge-like paison? I asked for extra sausage and the guy puts I am not kidding here the absolute bare minimum amount of sausage he possibly can.

Not even enough to really even be single sausage. Just a totally skimpy amount of sausage even for a pizza with single sausage let alone one I asked for double sausage on.

I feel ripped off I am paying $17.00 for this pizza and it isn’t like there are a shortage of pizza places to spend my money at and here I am getting skimped on cheese and toppings so I can’t even barely taste anything but tomato sauce and bread!

Ridiculous.

People who play games with toppings like this are full of it… seeing how little they can put on and still call it pizza… well let me tell you this guy has it down to an art form.

Seriously didn’t even enjoy it. What is the point of even coming in if you are just going to play games and see how little you can put on top of the pizza?

One time I came in and ordered a pie and got home and it was like they got Michael J Fox to cut the pizza with a bag tied over his head. The pizza was seriously hacked up!

Wow….I’m so excited to have found this hidden gem for my Pizza Fridays! I can’t believe how competitive the price is for how delicious and large the pizza is. I definitely prefer this pizza over domino’s, pizza hut, ledos and even frank & lukes. DEFINITELY worth it and I see why there was a line to the door when I went to pick up.

So….I had to come back and edit my review and change the rating from 5 stars to 3. My second time ordering on a Friday (10-7-22), unfortunately they missed the mark. Both of my XL pizzas were burnt and recipe didn’t taste the same. The sauce wasn’t sweet and savory, crust was super hard and burnt and it really was a waste of money. I don’t like that there’s not an email available for customers who would like to send feedback about their orders. I assume just to get a pizza remade or to request a refund, I would need to drive all the way back with the portions of pizza not eaten and show photos in my phone of the burnt pizza just to justify my complaint.

I understand human error and I do have common sense to know how busy and overwhelming Fridays can be. However, not sure if I can gamble again w/ the pizza not tasting as amazing as it did last Friday (9-30-22) unless I know exactly who made it. I was super elated to finally find a great pizza spot to patronize every Friday. Disappointed it is going in the direction of needing to find...

Almost NY! Almost. Maybe 75% there. Definitely worth it, very affordable and definitely NY quality but it's lacking something. It's not greasy enough, the dough is pretty bland. Their biggest mistake is putting the toppings underneath the cheese. NY don't do that! Very friendly though and if you ask for the toppings on top of the cheese they will gladly do it for you. I have better NY choices in MD (none of which truly compare to NY) but if I don't feel like driving 20-30 miles this place will suffice.

My other gripe is inconsistency. One day it's perfect the next it is a goobly gobbly mess with so much cheese I could choke on it. I think I know why. It seems to be waaaay over-cheesed when I order delivery. But perfect when I pick it up. Because they have like one driver, I think when they're taking too long to deliver they add more cheese and stick it back in the oven. Yuck waaaay too much cheese.
