First time visiting this restaurant. For a late morning Saturday, it was busy. Restaurant was extremely clean and well-appointed. Seating was spacious and arranged to allow for large and small parties. Front counter staff were polite but there was only one cashier. A seemingly incoherent customer was asking many, many, many questions, changing her order, etc. which occupied the lone cashier for about 9 minutes as we waited behind her in line. Despite this, he remained poised and friendly.
The food was disappointingly lackluster. My spouse ordered a roast beef sandwich with a side of cheese and mac-n-cheese. When we were seated, she found the sandwich was missing cheese. The counter staff quickly remedied this however. She said the meat tasted odd so I sampled it. It did have a somewhat off-taste and odor....as if it had been steamed and sat in water for a great deal of time. It was also completely devoid of any sort of seasoning. The mac-n-cheese was runny and also bland. I ordered a 2-pc chicken (white meat only) with fries. When the counter staff plated it as I stood there, I noticed he placed a drumstick and thigh on the tray. I informed him that I ordered white meat only which he quickly corrected. The chicken coating was fresh and crispy. No complaints there! The Fresh Fixins bar was adequately stocked and the vegetables were crisp and looked appetizing.
Overall, a pleasant experience. Will be back when in the area to give it...
Read moreWe ordered a 16 pice meal. The manager said its gonna be at least 15 minute wait. So ok no problem. Then part of our order was 2 Mac and cheese. The manager said we only have enough for 1 Mac an cheese so we said ok give us Cole slaw in place. After the 15 minute wait came an went we asked one of the kids on front line. He proceeded to get ignorant. By saying we told you there is a wait. We sold alotta chicken then just walked away. Then we asked the manager after we saw them put more Mac an cheese out if they was gonna put the 2nd one we wanted in to make up for not only. The 30 minute wait now. He said yeah. Ok so the chicken comes up they bring it right to the front line where the kid from earlier. Started to throw. Literally throw the chicken in the box. Then the same as the biscuits he threw them in the box. As he is doing this with a real arrogant look on his face. After this experience. I probably will not go to this location again. I can go on more about all the health violations I saw in that 30 minute time frame too but like most my complaints about service from these places seems no one cares anyway. Congratulations Roy Rogers you lost. Several customers I will let everybody I know...
Read moreI was only able to use the Roy Rogers drive-thru today. Sorry. The young man who drove me to an appointment made the choice. On the way he described the recent updates to the menu and spurred my appetite. I didn't even have my camera, so no pictures. Heroboto (name changed to protect the innocent) had a meal of ham, egg and cheese on sourdough bread and breakfast fries with orange juice. His food looked delicious and he said it was. He also had an extra biscuit, which didn't crumble when he took it apart to add honey. He previously had informed me that they use real honey and nobody else still has it. When he ate it I learned what they mean in the song that declares...it, "makes your eyes light up and your stomach say Howdy." Thanks, Heroboto. I had only a sourdough sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese. It was very tasty. The sourdough bread really made it special. I'd like to go back another time to try it again. I think next time I'll go inside and check out everything they have available. They're advertising mentions a Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich as well as Texas Pete Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Both look appealing on...
