Taqueria La Mexicana — Restaurant in Maryland

Whilst Taqueria La Mexicana does not appear to boast the ambience for an upscale, romantic dining experience, if you enjoy authentic Mexican and don’t mind a dive type atmosphere, this may just be one of the absolute best spots in all of Baltimore…. And when I say authentic, I mean “be prepared to order in Spanish authentic”, as the majority of staff and patrons alike seem to be Mexican. Albeit, I’ve often been able to order in English, as my Spanish language skills are rather limited.

I’ve personally had several dishes with all of them having been serious 10/10’s. The Best Burritos around, super fresh with same day, made in house tortillas and my absolute favorite Papusas in the Baltimore Metro Area. We have also enjoyed the red and green enchiladas, multiple taco combinations and nachos, all absolutely mouth watering and fantastic creations!

Please note, this establishment is easy to miss when coming from either direction on Reisterstown Road, as it sits in a small strip of four stores. Consequently, I highly recommend looking out for the bright yellow Framers’ Gallery sign as it makes for a significantly more...

ZERO STARS - but I had to select 1 in order to post - Zero stars!!!

I have never written a review, no one is perfect. However this needs to be out there. They started out with great food and acceptable service several months ago.- though no on speaks any ENGLISH!!

They went downhill with quality and service recently. I tried one more time today and ordered Tacos Pastor. The tacos were literally inedible because there was no meat - only fat. Absolutely disgusting piles of pink pork fat served as food. There were 4 of us and everyone had trouble with their order. - because they DONT SPEAK ENGLISH.

This was carryout. Which means my entire lunch break was squandered on ordering, waiting, trying to resolve - and I never got eat. I took my food ALL THE WAY back there and wound up leaving it on the counter. No refund, no replacement. Now I have to dispute the transaction through my bank. It's only 15 bucks but enough is enough.

Very sad that this nice little taqueria went so far downhill. I will never go back. I cannot recommend this place.
