Kevin P. introduced me to Big Greek Cafe, a fast casual Greek spot at the corner of Norbeck Road and Georgia Avenue. When we arrived, we had trouble finding a parking space in the shopping center during lunch on a Friday. However, we took our chances parking at a nearby parking lot. After we ordered our food, we didn't anticipate to wait over 30 minutes for our food. Orders after ours came out before ours. We had to ask the staff several times to check on our order. We shared a Big Greek Feast, which came with Chicken and Pork Souvlaki on Pita Bread and Gyro with Greek Fries. The meat in Big Greek Feast were quite flavorful. The chicken souvlaki was served sort of pre-cut and tasted better with lemon and tzatziki. The Gyro consisted of shaved gyro, tzatziki, tomato, and onions wrapped in pita bread. It was served with Greek style French Fries, which consisted of crispy french fries topped with crumbled feta, cubed feta, pepperocini, and freshly chopped herbs. In addition to the Big Greek Feast, I ordered a side of String Beans with Tomato Sauce. I felt like they could have had more flavor to them. We ended our meal with a slice of Tiramisu. My friend was right - it was delicious.

I'm updating my review as the owner replied to me and offered to correct the mistake. This kind of response time is really impressive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've now been here twice. Once for a burger and fries which were great and another for their $5 Gyro (Wednesday special) and a $12 Falafel Greek Salad. While the food was good, the Falafel Greek salad portion size was a joke. This is supposed to be their "Big Greek Salad" with falafel. I wouldn't even call this a side salad. This is falafel with some garnish. No cucumbers, no capers, no red peppers, no red onions, no "opa" dressing. I called when I saw what was in the the container and asked if this was really their "Falafel Greek Salad" and they said yes it's always like this. While their food is good, steer clear of the salad.

Easy-going casual spot for modestly-priced, delicious Greek food! With 6 Montgomery County locations (not to mention their Food Truck), this venue speaks to the demand for a middle ground dining niche that is slowly assuming an endangered title. Yet they are going strong as ever! Everything on the Menu is delicious; no exceptions! The Dolmades, the Greek fries, the Roasted Chicken & Potato Entree, and the falafel bowl are some of my favorites! Salads are always fresh and if you manage to find any room for desert, don’t skip out on the Classic Baklava or Baklava Cheesecake! Wednesdays are 1/2 Price Gyros (at least at the Norbeck Road location), so if you somehow find yourself a skeptic venture out for gyro in pita that will render your fandom. Insider tip: put a few Greek fries into your gyro sandwich if you want to blow your mind with delectability!

Cannot review the food or service, so only leaving one star for the atmosphere. Literally the worst parking situation I've ever seen for a business of any type. The food may be amazing, but I'll never know because it is impossible to visit the restaurant. The only way in to the restaurant's "parking area" is a very narrow, alley-like street that leads to an amazingly cramped and inadequate parking lot. The best part is, unless your vehicle is extremely small, once you get into the lot and realize there is of course no parking, the only way out is to slowly and perilously back out of the same narrow, car-lined alley you just drove into, while other drivers are also attempting to enter. Seriously, look at this parking situation on Google maps.

There is another parking lot across the street for a different suite of businesses, but you can tell those places grew tired of overflow parking, because it is FULL of signs telling you that if you park there and go across the street to the Greek restaurant, your car will be towed.

Would love to visit, but 100% not worth the...

Love Gyros with LOTS of tender lamb and delicious tzatziki sauce? Baklava? Greek salads with feta and real olives (watch your teeth!)? Greek string beans and Greek fries with feta? Then put Big Greek on your list.

Parking is horrible at their location at Georgia Ave and Norbeck Rd, so if you go after 5pm, park in White's Hardware just around the corner and get your steps in. It's absolutely worth the 1-minute walk.

Christian, Christian, the cooks and the rest of the staff are great guys, too. Leave 'em a tip in the tub on the counter; they all earn it.

Big Greek also has great carryout catering-size quantities. We brought home bulk lamb, salad, pita, sauce and orzo for our daughter's graduation and everyone left full and happy. Call in advance. My wife uses them for meals at church for her leaders when they meet at night. Feed 'em, and they will come.

And lest I forget - $5.00 GYRO WEDNESDAYS!!!

I don't work there, but...
