After moving into the area and being excited that I found a great tasting crab place, I was let down recently. A week before the 4th of July I ordered a half a dozen of Large Females. All excited to get home and enjoy me a nice movie after work and eat my crabs I get home and open the bag and the large crabs are actually med sized. But that doesn't stop me from ordering crabs a d corn for my 4th of July gathering a week later. On this day I ordered a half a bushel of Med Males and 12 ears of corn. Get home my guests are already eating the crabs. They tell me the corn was over cooked, but more importantly I look over at the table and the CRABS ARE EXTREMELY SMALL, AND THEYRE MIXED!! I absolutely HATE picking small crabs. I call the restaurant and speak with the manager or whoever's in charge this day, Courtney. She has me send her pictures of the crab measured point to point and the two different ones. It's now 5 mins till closing she cannot compensate me with more crabs at this point becasue they're cleaning up and leaving for the evening. She offers me a $25 refund. Not good enough, so then she offers me $30 NOT GOOD ENOUGH. So she tells me to finish the crabs and bring in the shells the next day. When I get there theres another couple there for the exact same reason, she gives the lady a FULL refund. But when it's my turn she offers me the same $30 from the night before. I say not good enough so she asks me what I want I exclaim, I spent $167 on these crabs I want at least enough to get a dozen of large crabs. She eventually goes up to offer me $40. I said you gave that lady a full refund she tells me she bought all her crabs back. I then tell her you told me to eat them because you were closing and I had nothing else to feed my guest with. It would have been such an inconvenience going around to stores to get food to prepare at the last minute. Not to mention she accused me of not bringing back ALL the crab shell's. Why would I want to keep some damn small crabs? Now being fed up I agree to the $40 refund becasue I could feel myself getting frustrated and it's just wrong how these local businesses treat you. Especially when they're the ones who messed up. So as you can imagine I will no longer be a patron of Watermans Pride...
Read moreWe came up to Baltimore bc my mom is from here and we come to Lexington Market. We wanted crabs, but at $75 for a dozen, we said, no way! So anyway, on a whim we found this establishment and came up with myself, my bf… I called my mom to tell her about it, and we drove 30 more minutes, a car full of crab people. We have good service, the young lady was kind, we bought a ton of crabs. I’m Writing this review differently now, bc when we came to pick up the crabs after they were cooked, we saw a lady we held the door open for had brown tubes of paper. So we asked for a roll, and were told they were a dollar. No problem we said, and went to the car to get a wallet. When I returned to get the roll, I was told I could not purchase, bc there is a SEVEN dollar minimum for cards? Really? We already bought food, AND we tipped. Ok, that’s fine. I left. It was so uncomfortable. As I was asking anyone in my family, my elderly mom, if they had change or a bill a gentleman who was inside for all interactions, waiting for his own order with his wife, came out and gave us a roll he literally PURCHASED for us. We were so taken aback by his kindness and selflessness, bc that’s a rarity these days. The point is, when we come back up, from Fredericksburg and Rockville…we won’t patronize here ever again bc we feel like our money and future money was worth a dollar roll of paper. Especially when we weren’t trying to get anything for free, we offered to pay. I have been in food and beverage for decades, and we own a small business. I always support. I would never ever turn a customer away for a dollar, especially for paper. It just didn’t and doesn’t sit right with us, and negated the entire positive experience for us. Maybe in the future there will be a better balance of...
Read morePick up was @ 7:30 for snow crab legs , fried shrimp , and wings . When I got there , the snow crab legs were done and I was told by the lady that it would be a few more minutes for my wings . 10 minutes goes by and the young guy comes out and told me he thought it was weird it was taking so long he just checked for me and it would be a few more minutes . I thought it was weird when I didn’t see any employees for about 10 minutes they all came out where I could see them and the lady asked the cook how much long and I heard him say about 15 minutes. Being a cook at one point in my life I know it doesn’t 30 minutes to fry wings . Finally she comes back out and says wings are done but we’re out of the sauce you ordered would you like to pick something else . Very disappointed seeing I go there 2-3 times a month and spend almost $100 each time and even gave them a $15 tip to go home and eat cold crab legs and shrimp and luckily hot wings . Always liked supporting a local business even though I can go to giant and get the crab legs steamed 1/3 of the price . Won’t be going back No fault to the young man working . The woman wasn’t much help he was answering calls , getting orders together , taking orders and having to apologize for trying to do it all...
