This place used to be really good. In fact, I would say they had a very long stretch as the best Teriyaki place in town. Unfortunately, with new ownership comes changes, and after my experience tonight I will not be back.
They close at 8pm. I walked in at 7:20 and ordered a meal for one person to dine in. The first question back was, "we close at 8, will you be done by then?". If you set your closing time at 8pm, you should be welcoming customers in and taking orders until 8pm. You shouldn't get upset when customers come in forty minutes or even ten minutes before closing. That is why the sign says "OPEN".
Next, I wanted to pay in cash. The reply for that was, "well I don't have any change, so you are gong to need the exact amount". Now, she opened the register, and I could see change in the drawer. The real problem was that she had already counted out the till for the night and did not want to account for new orders and more cash, so I pulled out exact change and handed it to her.
Needless to say, they were already upset by my being in their establishment before closing time and rushed my meal together. It was bad. I got dry, crusty, leftover rice that was most likely microwaved. The meat was overcooked, dry, and smothered in an overly salty teriyaki sauce, and it didn't come on the standard plate for a dine-in order, it came pre-packaged in a to-go box. They didn't even bother to give me the salad that is supposed to come with the meal. By this point I was fed up, I didn't even bother to ask for it. I just took the rest of my meal and left, sad that a long established business has been taken to such a low level of quality...
Read moreWow. Talk about sneaky stuff here… the previous reviews are correct. I asked for spicy, she upsold me for 5 dollars for some special sauce. I agreed, whatever sounded good. But then $8 dollar up charge for brown rice… that’s nearly $30 dollars for spicy chicken teriyaki w brown rice. Wow. I went back in for a receipt but of course they didn’t want to provide itemized.
$65 for spicy teriyaki, chicken yakisoba and a SIDE shrimp tempura. On the menu it says 8… no way that’s what I was charged when chicken yakisoba says 15. Make it make sense.
Be aware that you will not pay what’s on the menu. Shady.
Seems the long winded responses to side salads to previous reviews with poor attitude is trying to cover something up. The young girl working the front thinks she is much more than she is. Time for a reality check to this business and the girl who thinks she is big time haha.
Good luck, I highly recommend not going here (even on Sunday and you’re stranded for teriyaki).
Very disappointing. I...
Read moreI can not express how terrible this company is. The woman who answers the phones could not communicate on the phone at all. I used to come here a lot several years ago and when I moved back into the area I thought this would be my favorite teriyaki place. Boy was I wrong. I ordered Mongolian Beef and not only was there hardly and meat in my order or food in general but there was a paper meat wrapper in my food as well. My husband went back with the food, and all they could do for us was "apologize." Would not refund us our meal or replace it. Our other food was mediocre at best and the chicken teriyaki we got was almost all rice and hardly any chicken. Maybe they were running out of food or maybe costs went up. Frankly I don't care I will NEVER go back to this establishment, and encourage you to do the same. I should have taken a picture but they threw away the evidence when presented with it before we...
