BIG RATS in the parking lot. Right as you walk out of the restaurant there is what looks like a dumpster area in the middle of the parking lot covered in Ivy. As my wife and I we're walking out after spending almost $100 I noticed a couple of giant rats running on the sidewalk on a little closer inspection The Ivy seem to be crawling with giant rats so much so it looked like the plant was moving. I walked by and noticed the ground that I put an arrow pointing to in the picture looked like swiss cheese tons of little Burrows that obviously didn't spring up overnight. This looks like an infestation that the owners have simply ignored Deming it not their problem because there is other connecting businesses using the same parking lot. All I know is after spending that much money not being very happy with the chicken Tiki marsala along with some other dishes we tried, walking out and seeing that disgusting site it made me sick to my stomach and seriously worried about what it looks like in the back of the restaurant where they store the food. I am in fact so disturbed by the the hordes of rats that I do not feel comfortable even eating and Marysville anymore. If that were my restaurant I wouldn't care what it cost I would get an exterminator out there to take care of that infestation because no one wants to be greeted by giant rats when going out to eat. You can see on the map it's only a few steps away from front door and you could also see that in the photo 4 years ago taken that these holes were not there. Every one of those business owners they use that parking lot should be ashamed for letting something like this happen. If you don't believe me go there after Dark and take a look where I drew the arrows. It was like something...
Read moreI wanted to like this place. Mind you this was my first time for their buffet. But its a buffet that has limitations. They barely put food out. The hostess/waitress was polite, but she was by herself taking care of everything. The flavor of what I ate was not bad. But there was chicken slivers in the butter chicken, not chunks. The goat was bones in sauce with maybe a nibble of meat. The chicken curry was nice, but there was about 8 people there for buffet but only 3 or 4 pieces of chicken about the size of a nugget in it. Naan is not included which is kinda crazy. You'd think you want people to fill up on that. I ordered it as an extra side and it was good. The tandoori chicken took 45 minutes to make its appearance at the buffet and by that time my party was over it. We were never offered water or any beverages. We had to ask to grab our own soda cans. And at $3 a can to grab it yourself seems kinda steep. At one point the nice waitress/hostess encouraged us to get the food that was just brought out. Which is kinda weird to have your customers feel they have to rush on a buffet or they will miss out. I get not wanting to waste food and cook it if business is slow, but if people show up, take care of them. Maybe just skip doing the buffet all together. The Bombay Lounge in Yuba City is a better buffet and have more people helping out. I am only speaking on the Buffet. I did not order cocktails as again, we weren't offered, and I did not order any dishes besides the naan. I hope things change for the better. Seems like this place...
Read moreThe girlfriend and I have made it a mission to try every Indian restaurant in the Yuba Sutter area. With such a large Indian community here, we’re blessed with plenty of great options, so we were excited to finally check Lakeside Indian Cuisine off our list.
The first thing we noticed was the pricing, noticeably higher than other local spots, in some cases nearly double. We figured maybe the food or service would justify it, so we went in with an open mind.
When we sat down, however, the waitress kept steering us toward different (and pricier) items, almost like a car salesperson trying to upsell. It felt a little pushy. In the end, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Shahi Paneer with a garlic naan, plus samosas and Paneer Pakora on the side.
The samosas ended up being the highlight of the meal, crisp, flavorful, and paired with some of the best chutneys I’ve ever had. The Paneer Pakora was different from what we’re used to but still decent, while the naan came out a little dry. Unfortunately, both the Chicken Tikka Masala and Shahi Paneer were swimming in oil, more than the usual richness you expect with these dishes, to the point where it was a bit hard to enjoy.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it didn’t really win us over either. We didn’t hate it, but we didn’t love it. We’ll probably give it another shot down the line and update our thoughts if...
