We arrived at 5:30 - we ended up leaving around 8:00. We wanted an early dinner because we have 3 kids 7,4,2. The service was extremely slow. The “water guy” filled our glasses up right when we sat down and never came back for any refills. The waitress seemed to be overwhelmed for having only 5 tables. We ordered appetizers and those came out “on time”, but the empty plates sat there even after the waitress came back by and took our dinner order. The dinner took at least an hour (not good for having hangry, inpatient kids). I got a “dry aged steak” that was priced the same as a Jeff Ruby’s restaurant and I can guarantee you they do not have the same chefs cooking a steak for that price point (well I can confirm because the steak was so charred and was more well done than the medium temp I ordered!!) Extremely overpriced and TBH I can make a better steak at home on my Blackstone!! We ordered a pasta with butter and cheese for the 2 littles and asked for them to split the plate - that was never done and the waitress even mentioned it but never did anything about it. Just felt like she said “oh well, our bad”. Dessert, We ordered 3 ice creams for the kids and that took no lie 25 minutes - she came back with only 1 bowl full of ice cream and had to ask her for 3 bowls (obviously right?, because of the 3 kids). This isn’t our first rodeo of taking kids out to dinner. We normally accommodate the restaurant by eating early, being ready to order, and being in and out so the table will open up and so other guests can enjoy their meal without having kids disrupting them, but this was the slowest service ever and the waitress even mentioned having kids, so She should know better IMO!!!! Very poor service, the pasta felt premade and microwaved, the steak was so disappointing for the $85 they...
Read moreWe celebrated my husband’s birthday on 6/19/25 and it was such a disappointment. My husband ordered the veal which was thin and hard and the pasta that came with it was stuck together and not properly cooked - the side of red sauce was really good but he didn’t even eat 1/2 of it. I asked our server about the scallops and she assured me they were a good size. So I ordered the classic fettuccini with Alfredo sauce but they were out of fettuccini at 6pm so she offered spaghetti or cheese-filled tortellini. I chose the tortellini and added the scallops. Menu said 3 scallops for additional $14. My son got the spaghetti with classic Alfredo and added the chicken. My 3 scallops were about the size of a quarter - maybe slightly larger and I had 10 tortellinis. My plate looked like. Kiddie’s portion and I was charged $33 for my plate My son’s bowl was overflowing with food I asked the server given his food was only $24 but she was of no help at all. My 19 year old son gave me some of his food - he offered because he said you hardly have any food. We split an entree salad and asked for dressing on the side - dressing was on it. My food tasted good but overpriced for a very tiny plate of food. My son’s food including his chicken was delicious. We spent $117 after tax and tip but felt completely ripped off especially given my husband’s veal and pasta were way overcooked. Disappointed on this birthday! I texted the code on my receipt to comment - as provided AND it did not work. Why put it on the receipt then? Also I was charged $15 for the 3 small scallops even though menu clearly stated $14. I don’t like it when menus list a different price and then charge you more. We will not be back as there are too many other good restaurants. It’s a shame as we were looking...
Read moreTheir cheese pizza is a great value that we often order for takeout. I always request extra oregano on top of their cheese pizza. The lobster ravioli sauce is excellent. The bolognese was dry and the meat in it was over cooked/rubbery. The wine list is good. This was our first visit. We sat at the bar and we would have happily spent more money if given the opportunity. You may be better off avoiding Friday-Saturday nights. Make sure you order a bottle or two of wine, not by the glass, so you don't have to wait. The bartender was nice and had the challenge of waiting on the bar, all the tables in the bar area and the drink orders coming in from the staff. They need an additional bartender. Mi$$ed opportunity. The people on our left and right were served bread at the start. Maybe they were out by 6:30pm. I hope this place enjoys success, because it will be nice to support a small, non franchise business in downtown Mason. Added picture from second visit to Luigi's of the Sea Bass and it is very good. The waitress was excellent. Our group ordered primarily the Lobster ravioli and Sea Bass. This 2nd visit and we got to enjoy their outstanding rolls this time. We noticed the portions were smaller, but know that the flavor was outstanding. We also tried three apps: calamari, meatballs and stuffed risotto balls. All three apps were excellent. 1/5/2023 Thursday night visit. Sat at the bar, ordered a bottle of Valpolicella wine and a cheese pizza, which was excellent and a...
