As I waited at Jiffy Lube in Matthews, NC, I stumbled upon a hidden gem right around the corner—an exquisite coffee shop and restaurant that turned out to be a delightful surprise. From the moment I stepped inside The Collective Cafe, I knew I was in for a culinary treat.

The ambiance of the place was warm and inviting, with its cozy decor and comfortable seating. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, instantly tantalizing my senses. The friendly and attentive staff greeted me with genuine smiles, making me feel right at home.

Being a coffee lover, I couldn't resist trying their specialty brews. The barista expertly prepared my cappuccino, and with the first sip, I was transported to coffee heaven. The smooth, rich flavors and perfect balance of the espresso and velvety foam were simply divine. It was evident that they took great pride in their coffee craftsmanship.

As I perused the menu, I discovered a wide array of delectable dishes to choose from. The menu showcased a fusion of international flavors, promising a culinary adventure. The presentation was impeccable, and with every bite, I savored the explosion of tastes and textures. It was evident that the chef had a passion for creating culinary masterpieces.

What truly impressed me was their commitment to sourcing local and organic ingredients. They emphasized sustainability and showcased seasonal produce, which added an extra layer of freshness and vibrancy to each dish. The attention to detail was evident not only in the taste but also in the visual appeal of the food.

The service was exceptional throughout my visit. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu, and they were more than willing to provide recommendations based on personal preferences. The wait time for my food was minimal, and my server ensured that I had everything I needed to make my dining experience memorable.

Overall, my unplanned visit turned out to be a culinary adventure that surpassed my expectations. The combination of exceptional coffee, tantalizing flavors, and attentive service made it a standout dining experience in Matthews, NC. Whether you're seeking a cozy coffee spot or a place to indulge in extraordinary cuisine, I highly recommend visiting this place. It's a true gem that deserves recognition for its outstanding culinary offerings and warm...

First time there for me. I love trying new places. First up... not good for handicap drivers. There are literally 5 or 6 handicap spots right in front. However, they're not painted in blue. They don't have designated posts w/signs, and the parking space pictures are faded white. So that seems to mean absolutely nothing to everybody else. This is primarily a "remote work space" with good food. Plenty of parking if you get there before the "work force" gets there because they park, come inside, get on their laptops, and don't leave. Otherwise, you're gonna be walking pretty far to the door. Immediately upon entering, the service and the greeting was A++ energized, bright, cheery and personable. The interior is a modern, chic, trendy, so-ho vibe. I went there on a Tuesday morning at 11 AM and there were limited tables because you guessed it....The workforce was using 3/4 of the tables with their laptops having business conversations. I also noticed the seats that tend to be available indoors, were those trending metal chairs with side metal bars around your hips which are quite uncomfortable if you aren't size 6 in the rear end. Outdoor dining is available also. The food was fabulous. Really tasty. We had the Chipotle chicken panini, and Philly cheese steak. The potato wedges are good. Not frozen fries. Didn't try any coffees. If for some reason you found yourself in the area where you needed to wait around and still work .... this would be a great option for you. For example Novant hospital is super close by. You could drop someone off for visiting hours or out patient surgery, and still be close by. I can't say if I'd be back or not because it probably would depend on if I'm in the area and there was parking available. I happen to be one of the people that relies on...

I used to really love this place, and I still do to some extent. I love the veggie scramble wrap. I still order it, but there's one problem. This dish is supposed to come with salsa and a fruit cup. It used to consistently always be delivered with both of those items, but in the past few months there is now only a 10% chance that, if ordered, the wrap will come with salsa and a fruit cup. More often than not, I only get the wrap. It's pretty disappointing, because the salsa essentially made that wrap so delicious. Without it, it's rather bland. I make do by adding salt or my own hot sauce, but it isn't the same. Additionally, in the past few months every single time I get this wrap, it has been increasingly greasy. When I pick it up, it literally drips grease. "No problem," I thought initially, "I'll just wipe up the excess with a napkin." Nope. It's as if the grease is coming from some source of infinite grease within the wrap. I wish they would pay more attention when making these, and when packing them up for delivery. It makes it less enjoyable when they don't. I don't know if they got a new cook/chef recently, or what, but if that is the case, I hope they get them trained up pretty soon. I miss my yummy veggie...

I’d like to start off by saying this place has a very great atmosphere and I would definitely recommend going here if you want a workspace. This place is even kind of connected to a business that rents out rooms so that people can collaborate in them. I would also say that going to a place to grab regular tea or coffee shouldn’t really come with too much expections , so here that would be great also. That is why I gave this place three stars instead of two. My boyfriend was actually pretty upset at our visit to this place. When our drinks were serve, they were given sloppy you have to go up and grab them and he said that both drinks were sitting in a puddle that he basically cleaned up while also cleaning up our drinks , just felt like since it was basically Starbucks prices that you know it should be about the same service as Starbucks. But beyond this, he became more disappointed when both of our food wasn’t good. His fruit wasn’t ripe, it was like halfway frozen or something… and my breakfast burrito had almost no flavor. The people that work here are pretty awesome though .

My experience at The Collective Cafe was so-so at best and the customer service was meh. I ordered a hot chai which was pretty good but the empanadas I ordered weren't very appetizing. They fried the living heck out of the empanadas to the point where they were almost inedible. If I didn't pay for these, then I probably wouldn't have eaten them. It tasted like the oil was old since they had a weird taste to them too. I ordered the following empanadas:  nutella & strawberry, date & goat cheese, and guava & cheese. The date and goat cheese lost most of its filling while being fried and the nutella & strawberry also had minimal filling. The guava & cheese had a good amount of filling but it was mostly just cheese. I have had my fair share of empanadas and these probably rank as some of the worst unfortunately.
