House Divided Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Mauldin

Private club, with a bad attitude!

A group of us stopped in after a hockey game to meet some new friends, and once inside learned the bar was a private establishment and we would need to buy a membership to be served. No problem there - except the older man working behind the bar wouldn't give us any info on how to buy a membership. We sat down at an empty table for a few minutes trying to plan our next move while one in our party were talking to some other people at the table next to us. The bartender came by me and another person in my group a few minutes later yelling at us that he couldn't serve us any alcohol. We said that was fine, we were about to leave. The bartender never actually asked us to leave - although he was very frantic and vulgar. Half of our party immediately left to the parking lot to wait for the rest of our party to join us. A minute or two later, the drag queen that appeared to be employed at the bar threw open the front door and started yelling back inside the bar at our friends. Once we were all outside, the drag queen followed us to our cars on the other side of the parking lot while cussing at us and making racial slurs to our group.

In short - either this is a terribly unfriendly bar, or we came on the wrong night. Either way, we wont ever consider going back - and I would suggest anyone looking for a fun and welcoming place...

Was there briefly. Played several pool games. Was humid and hot. Felt sticky including the floor. The pool table is crammed in the back where the bathrooms are so anyone using them will get in your way with the opening of the doors. Also room is too small for size of the table. Your stick will be against a wall. They do have a short stick there to play with. If your looking to shoot a serious game on a decent table, this isnt the place. This place has the best cheeseburgers in the upstate. The staff is amazing. The owner does everything he can to make your visit wonderful. Laid-back kind of place. They also have live bands throughout the week. If anyone is looking for a great place to hang out. This is it ! They also HELP SO MUCH IN the community.
