Tried this hidden gem for the first time today. Small place in a shared building one driveway down from Firehouse Subs. Easy parking. Immediately impressed with fresh feel of the place. Clean and bright with nice food scents. Ordered fried gyoza, edamame, Crunch Munch roll, and Udon with Tempura Shrimp, plus a take-home order of Udon with chicken.
Friendly helpful waitress served cold pre-filtered water, and managed our order. She was great with her timing ensuring eat-in orders and to-go order were perfectly timed.
Gyoza was hand-made and was amazing! Edamame was warm with just the right saltiness. Crunch Munch Roll was excellent, with extremely fresh ingredients and well packed and layered. Udon was very good. Shrimp Tempura was tasty, but shrimp itself could have used a little more prep before frying. Take-out Udon was also good and very well packaged.
They had some spectacular looking rolls that we will try next trip.
Note that they do not take reservations and seating is limited. Come early if more than 4 guests. 15% tip is added to all dining room seated orders. I have zero issue with this as the wait staff is very attentive and professional. We usually top at least 20% or more.
Net: Highly recommend this charming authentic little spot for eat-in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give this 0 stars I would. I would definitely not recommend. The service was disgustingly horrible. Iāve ordered here before and didnāt have a problem. Usually pick up. I tried calling to put in my order for pick up and it went straight to voicemail (which they donāt even have set up). Since they were not answering after maybe 6x I called, I ordered online. It said it would be ready in 45-50 mins. I gave it about an hour and 15 and my husband went to go pick it up. When he arrived, they didnāt have the order. They said it was āgoneā. How can it be gone that makes no sense there were no customers there. They said we couldnāt order again, this is after I was charged. They refused to make me the order after waiting and denied my refund request. All the while being extremely disrespectful to my husband and to me over the phone. I was able to speak to them because my husband called me while being there. I heard the rudeness and lack of customer service skills through the phone. Very disheartening, to run a business like that. Very mean and lack of basic hospitality skills. We will not be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to Aoki tonight for a dinner date with my hubby. It was his first time since he is not a sushi guy and itās taken me forever to convince him to join me. Iāve eaten at this place about a dozen or so times and the food has been consistent over the last year and a half. This is still my favorite place. The food is always flavorful. My usual is the Philadelphia roll, Fire Dragon Roll, and Shumai. This time I decided to step out of my comfort zone and add Udon to my order and this was my first time ever eating Udon. I started smiling and dancing in my seat. I canāt wait to try other dishes. My husband had the bulgogi and he said it was good. I was so focused on my own food that I didnāt think to taste his. The atmosphere is always quiet and relaxed. They usually play the cooking and home improvement network on the TVs. Any time Iāve dined in Iāve been the only person sitting, with one of my friends, to eat but witnessed multiple take out customers come in each time. Decent amount of seating to fit somewhere over 30 people at a time. I...
