Tried this hidden gem for the first time today. Small place in a shared building one driveway down from Firehouse Subs. Easy parking. Immediately impressed with fresh feel of the place. Clean and bright with nice food scents. Ordered fried gyoza, edamame, Crunch Munch roll, and Udon with Tempura Shrimp, plus a take-home order of Udon with chicken.

Friendly helpful waitress served cold pre-filtered water, and managed our order. She was great with her timing ensuring eat-in orders and to-go order were perfectly timed.

Gyoza was hand-made and was amazing! Edamame was warm with just the right saltiness. Crunch Munch Roll was excellent, with extremely fresh ingredients and well packed and layered. Udon was very good. Shrimp Tempura was tasty, but shrimp itself could have used a little more prep before frying. Take-out Udon was also good and very well packaged.

They had some spectacular looking rolls that we will try next trip.

Note that they do not take reservations and seating is limited. Come early if more than 4 guests. 15% tip is added to all dining room seated orders. I have zero issue with this as the wait staff is very attentive and professional. We usually top at least 20% or more.

Net: Highly recommend this charming authentic little spot for eat-in...

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I would definitely not recommend. The service was disgustingly horrible. I’ve ordered here before and didn’t have a problem. Usually pick up. I tried calling to put in my order for pick up and it went straight to voicemail (which they don’t even have set up). Since they were not answering after maybe 6x I called, I ordered online. It said it would be ready in 45-50 mins. I gave it about an hour and 15 and my husband went to go pick it up. When he arrived, they didn’t have the order. They said it was ā€œgoneā€. How can it be gone that makes no sense there were no customers there. They said we couldn’t order again, this is after I was charged. They refused to make me the order after waiting and denied my refund request. All the while being extremely disrespectful to my husband and to me over the phone. I was able to speak to them because my husband called me while being there. I heard the rudeness and lack of customer service skills through the phone. Very disheartening, to run a business like that. Very mean and lack of basic hospitality skills. We will not be going...

Went to Aoki tonight for a dinner date with my hubby. It was his first time since he is not a sushi guy and it’s taken me forever to convince him to join me. I’ve eaten at this place about a dozen or so times and the food has been consistent over the last year and a half. This is still my favorite place. The food is always flavorful. My usual is the Philadelphia roll, Fire Dragon Roll, and Shumai. This time I decided to step out of my comfort zone and add Udon to my order and this was my first time ever eating Udon. I started smiling and dancing in my seat. I can’t wait to try other dishes. My husband had the bulgogi and he said it was good. I was so focused on my own food that I didn’t think to taste his. The atmosphere is always quiet and relaxed. They usually play the cooking and home improvement network on the TVs. Any time I’ve dined in I’ve been the only person sitting, with one of my friends, to eat but witnessed multiple take out customers come in each time. Decent amount of seating to fit somewhere over 30 people at a time. I...

Came here on my lunch break I noticed this place is always empty and I see why. (Don’t let them fool you with the lie this IS from their restaurant and they DO use pink ginger) The workers took forever just to acknowledge me. Almost turned right around due to the dirty looks. Not sure how they are in business with only 5 tables must be a money laundering front cause let me tell you about the food. I waited about 45 mins for my take out order that they charge an arm and leg for. (I was the only customer in there) Once I opened my box I was baffled I couldn’t judge on just looks so I had to at least try it. I’ll forever regret it. Not only was the sushi cold and rubbery it was terrible and tasted like Pennies. I’ve had better sushi from Walmart for a reasonable price. Had a terrible stomach bug that night. There are tons of sushi places in Greenville that have great service and also sell real sushi. Not sure what that was that I ate. Beware of this place āš ļøā˜£ļø

Finally, a sushi place that is well priced and absolutely delicious. For the last year we have been driving 40 mins to Hendersonville so we can eat at UMI which has the best sushi in WNC Northern SC and the prices are very reasonable. All the sushi places in Greenville are overpriced and not that great. Then Aoki arrived and man I'm glad we decided to try them. Every roll was so good, the fish is the perfect temperature which makes a huge difference. The salmon and white tuna were so buttery. My wife really enjoyed the Orange Blossom roll which is topped with salmon and red tobiko. My favorite was the Playgirl roll which had shrimp tempura and Avocado inside topped with salmon and topped with a savory sauce. If your looking for sushi that slaps in Greenville and still be able to afford your mortgage payment, come to Aoki.
