Authentic as authentic can get. I found this place on Google and with its great reviews, decided to give it a try. I should mention that. This restaurant also has a second listing or identity on Google by the name of “The Jalapeño Mexican Grill” both have the same phone numbers. I happen to walk in on $.99. Taco Tuesday. I tried the pastor, carnitas, asada and cuerito. Pastor was my favorite and cuerito was also delicious! My total bill was $5.94 🤔 My advice to the owner as a restaurant professional, is you are not making any money on this. If the place was completely packed and everyone was buying sides, then I’d be all in on this strategy. But there was at least eight people there when I was there. A lost Leader strategy is supposed to bring in an excessive amount of guests which then you sell other things to to make up for the profit of the lost leader. I didn’t see this happening. Manny my Server was excellent.
You do not have to give away your food to make a profit. The food was a good enough quality that you should have higher prices than $.99! There is no way given food costs in 2025 that you can be making money on this menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is my humble opinion as a restaurant executive. I would recommend a limit if you wanted to try that pricing, as in the first three are $.99. In any case, the food was as authentic as it gets. Until they change the strategy, you need to get here on Tuesdays or Thursdays for...
Read moreSuper-tasty and authentic tacos (corn tortilla, cilantro, onion, and lime for those who have not had the extreme pleasure). Great prices across the menu and the $0.99 tacos on Taco Tuesday are a steal. I also tried the sopes which were crispy like they should be and also excellent, although refried beans work better for a sope than the (not refried) black beans they use instead. The two homemade sauces, a verde and an arbol(?)-type are delicious. There's a large variety of meats to try on your tacos and all I tried were equally great - but don't miss the pastor and carnitas if you're a pork lover. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. Went twice y'day (a Tuesday : ) and will be back soon. If you're a foodie or just a taco fiend, Taqueria...
Read moreOn Tuesdays and Thursdays, the tacos here are $1, for the most part. For a list of tacos please see the pictures above. The tacos come with limes and an optional cilantro and onions. The tacos are only single-layer, however, who cares for the price point.
Pictured here you can see two carnitas, two chorizo, and two pastor tacos. They have two hot sauces, orange and green. The green one is the hotter one. Like 1/4 of a habanero vs. 1/3 of a habanero. Lots of good flavors and these lads are quick for getting the plates out
Their nachos are crispy. The salsa is pretty runny and has a sweet spice to it. Probably like 1/3 a jalapeno at most in...
