I visited today with my mom, her coffee was cold and so was mine. She ordered a bagel for $3.50 and got a pitifully small amount of cream cheese to go with it, kind of a rip off if you ask me. I ordered a shot in the dark and the barista didn't know what that was. The coffees were not good and cold, it seems like the staff served us old coffee. Overall the experience was genuinely underwhelming and disappointing. I witnessed who I believe was the owner use the steam wand to re-heat a latte for a customer, which was quite disturbing to me, as that is a major health code violation. I've been a barista for 5+ years and never in my tenure would I ever reheat a latte like that. I am serve-safe certified, and one of the first things I learned was the importance of maintaining proper temperatures when serving beverages. It is completely unsanitary, not to mention incredibly unsafe, to reheat a latte. In my experience I always offered to remake a customer's latte, or offered them a coffee on the house, free of charge, if they ever complained about it being cold. Witnessing such disregard for food and health safety upset me more than the bad coffee. My mom and I ended up going across the street to another cafĂŠ where the coffee and food was exceptional, and so hot I almost forgot about my prior bad experience. Also, the staff was 10 times more hospitable, and the barista actually knew what she was doing. I was quite unimpressed and completely turned off by the lack of food safety I witnessed. I will not be coming back, but I'll definitely be frequenting the lovely people who served us across the street. Also, reheating a latte completely destroys the chemistry and structure of the milk, so you doing that shows me that you don't care about the quality of your product because whatever you reheated and handed back to the customer was most likely subpar, gross, and not even close to what a latte should be. If I hadn't seen this happen I probably wouldn't have said anything and just shrugged off the experience. 1/5, train your staff about food safety and how to make an actual good...
Read moreI came here a bit earlier today to catch up with a friend I havenât spoke to in 5 years. She recommended the place and needless to say we ended up talking for like 3-4 hours. I normally donât spend that long in places but I figured since itâs more of a cafe rather than restaurant it would be okay. Especially since we sat in the back (a 2-person love seat) as to not bother other patrons. We got there when it opened, left around noon. A lady with black hair came up to us and said âokay guys itâs been 4.5 hours. Itâs packed up front you need to get up.â Then proceeded to ignore me telling her have a nice day. I mean I didnât expect much else. I wouldâve asked for her name if I cared but đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸. My friend and I have both been servers (me for like 5 years) and if i ever did that to a paying patron I wouldâve been fired or had a stern talking to. If you have a time limit on seating , make your customers aware or post that somewhere in the building. It is no oneâs responsibility that you cannot accommodate more than 12 people give or take. I do not believe it to be bold to assume it is first come first serve but thatâs alright. Lady at counter was pleasant and gave us recommendations. But what really was sad was that trifling cafe cheesecakeânasty. Lol. AnywaysâŚthereâs other...
Read moreI have always loved coming here and the staff has always been wonderful until I met the owner Erin today. Very sad to say I wonât be back due to how rude she treats customers. I hadnât yet set my belongings down before she asked me not to sit there if I was alone. I have never had a business owner tell me I couldnât sit somewhere let alone the attitude she had. I didnât mind moving but she was extremely rude about it which is why I was caught off guard and probably rude back. There is a way to own a business and a way to not. Her employees however have always been so great I will miss going as it has become a regular spot but I unfortunately canât support a business that treats the very people keeping it open, disrespectfully.
Response: not to be redundant but you seemed to not read what I wrote as I already said I was rude back because you were rude first, second I said it wasnât about moving it was how you asked and I had no idea other people were waiting for a seat as I had only been there for 30 seconds after you approached me I didnât even have time to know if there were any other seats available. Itâs not about what you said itâs about how...
