Last night we went went back as loyal Maumee residents. We were discussed by the way we were treated. The woman that was working behind the counter treated us like we were putting her out for expecting her to do her job. She treated my 82 year old father so badly that he asked if he did something to offend her. She answered with a scoff. As a Maumee resident within walking distance to this shop.... I want to see it succeed, however in today's economical climate I do not think that employing a person that makes what was supposed to be a fun endeavor into one that you are discussed with is the employee you need. I'm not just ranting about 1 time, my children have been treated very poorly on the past as well and talking with out neighbors, a lot of them also have a very negative experience with the same individual. You are a small business no doubt about to face challenge equal to the pandemic, you should treasure the community around you trying to help support you...... My family and I will no longer patronize this establishment. Good luck in upcoming...

Proportions with many of their chocolates are not balanced. The chocolate covered caramels are SUPER filled so all you taste is caramel and salt. Just picking it up breaks apart because there is too much caramel.
Truffles are also dry and unbalanced with too much chocolate and not enough filling. Some truffles fillings were terribly salt or too sweet.
Buckeye's are too filled with dry peanut butter and not enough smooth chocolate to balance the dry peanut butter.
Customer service wasn't there as well. I asked if the chocolates I ordered from behind the counter to be separated, was told it was no problem. Once I got them they were all mixed and condensed.
Maumee does have variety in sodas and some odd candies that haven't been sold in stores in awhile.
Overall, wouldn't recommend. Prices are pricey for chocolates that seem to be made by a first time student chocolatier. Some flavors are there just need someone to improve balance of every...

Tons of retro gum and obscure candy as well as a wall of sodas for the old soul in your life. My Grandpa loves Beeman's and Blackjack gum so here is the place to find it.
Near the checkout counter, be sure to grab a scoop of ice cream or a vintage style metal lunch box or puzzle. Those were mostly horror/thriller genre themed during my visit in Dec 2024, but there were boxes and puzzles of a more tame nature as well.
Hard dip ice cream, chocolate bars, and made in house fudge are at the checkout counter as well.
I've been shopping here since randomly walking in for candy while my daughter's were at a pottery class across the street at the Sunshine Studio in 2021.
You won't be disappointed with...
