Food does not carry-out well. Tacos seasoning has gone out the door. We have dined in this restaurant several time and we have noticed a change in recipes and seasoning over time. Unfortunately, it has not been improvements but gradual decay. I grew up in Chicago and had traveled the USA extensively. One of my favorite street food dishes is tacos. When first launched, La Bandolera had amazing tacos al pastor and tacos carnitas. The seasoning was on point, and they were served in the traditional mexican style. The white onion was finely cut to aid in consumption since it is served raw. And the cilantro was fresh. They were also served with lime wedges to complement the dish. The tacos al pastor where braised over time as the meat was tender and very flavorful. In our last order, we had both tacos: carnitas and al pastor. When we opened the carry out we were very dissappointed. The meat looked old and sparse. The "home made" tortilla was pitiful and wet. The onions were cut in different shapes and thrown in. No lime. We paid a total of $31 for this meal that included two jarritos. This is the last time I order to go...
Such a horrible wait, they leave you and forget about you for over half an hour; we even had to remind them of our existence so we could have service. The prices are way too high for small portions of food that doesn't even taste good . For whoever is cooking, please learn how to cook and season or please get another job. The restaurant was dirty and appeared abandoned on the inside. I couldn't have had a...
Read moreService and the environment is great, but the food is not authentic at all. The sauce for the chips and red enchilada (that is the same) taste like Ragú Sauce. The rice is medium rice and nos long rice, is dry…. The guacamole taste like paste not even like aguacate and the pico de gallo it taste like nothing. The drinks were good and the chips. The green enchilada was not that great and the plating it was like swimming in sauce; Enchiladas were really small. The only plate that tasted good was my daughter’s that was basically chicken strips and fries. The food was really disappointing more for Mexican culture. Personally would not eat there again, just...
