Djavoo Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Mayagüez

We went to Djavoo on a Saturday afternoon. It was relaxing and quiet at that moment. (It was opening time 4:00pm) The first thing you notice when arriving is the very tasteful and elegant decor. We were received by a very attentive employee that would also be our server for the day.

We ordered several drinks, I went with my classic Macallan neat, a bottle of wine was ordered and several cocktails, all of them excellent. For appetizers we had the manchego cheese croquettes and duck paté over toasts, exceptional!!

For main course we had the whole rack of ribs with a guava barbecue sauce accompanied by a chorizo risotto. The ribs were tender and the sauce was delicious. The risotto was cook to perfection and the balance of rice, cheese and chorizo was impeccable. At the table it was also ordered the classic hamburger, with raving accolades and mahi mahi in a white sauce cooked perfectly, accompanied by a Provencal risotto.

For dessert we had a baked Alaska that was, not only spectacular in its presentation, but also very, very good. Compliments were abundant for the guava cheesecake and the Catalan cream.

The experience in Djavoo was exceptional. The food was great, perfectly executed and with healthy portions. The service was impeccable we also had the opportunity to meet the chef, who showed ample knowledge of his trade and shared some very interesting anecdotes of his career. When you eat in Djavoo you get the treatment, ambiance and quality expected in the most exclusive of restaurants at a reasonable price.

We came in just to give it a try and… wow! Expectations were high, and they totally delivered. From the appetizers to the main dishes and that heavenly dessert – everything was on point. We shared a bottle of wine (highly recommended!), making it the perfect touch for a mother-daughter outing.

The menú is awesome , have great options , we try the Lamb and cheese burger , was excellent, I never try Lamb in a burger , I give them 10/10. We try to the timbales de pollo , was so good and very well presented .
