I refuse to believe this place has over 4 stars. I never write a negative review based on my first experience, but I'm breaking my own rule here because the food was so bad. I knew that I was in trouble when I was presented with the choice of marinara or white sauce with my $24 plate of spaghettini with clams, but I persevered. The Caesar dressing with my side salad was bizarre and nothing like I would expect from a purported Italian restaurant. Instead of a simple anchovy-based house dressing, I was given a bottled mess that tasted like something between ranch, Caesar, and water drained out of a bar mat. The alarming cloudy orange of the old fashioned I ordered was another warning sign and, as I expected, it was nothing like any other old fashioned I've had before. There was no discernible amount of bourbon in it, though there was a curious mush of mascerated oranges at the bottom. The true center piece of the culinary side show was the pasta. Never before have I been served anything as outright offensive as the spaghettini with clams here. The clams... I'm not even sure I can call them that...were inedible. It was as if they took a can of tuna, mixed it with white onions and some butter, and sautéed it far beyond recognition. I've never seen anything like it. I'm still not convinced I wasn't served cat food.
Really, just give it up guys. No one is mistaking you for an actual Italian restaurant. Paint everything brown, buy some vaguely 19th century industrial-looking metalwork pieces for decor, and start selling smash burgers. It...
Read moreMyself and 2 colleagues were guests at the hotel of Canon Medical which provided us with meal vouchers for Alfredos during our stay. The first night this wasn't an issue, and the nice waitress working that evening only charged us for mine and my wife's drinks. Night 2 we ate and presented our vouchers which turned in to a 30 minute escapade where none of the staff could figure out how to charge us. We ended up getting charged for things like half coffees and half sodas. We were confused as to why it was any sort of issue on night 2. Night 3 we presented our voucher before the meal to help with any sort of confusion. Well that didn't work either. 2 of us for some reason got charged and there was much confusion over tips, which were already built in to the vouchers. For whatever reason, our vouchers were returned to us after our check was settled. My coworker had around $15 left on hers so we asked at the counter if we could just use what was left on some cookies from the case. We were given a response of "no and from now on you should order any thing from the case before settling." Umm ok so why did you give the card back then? This all happened as the older female bartender glared at us as if we were stealing or something. Needless to say, any good thoughts we had for the meals were completely overshadowed by the ineptitude and poor attitude of some of the staff. Hopefully Canon contracts with another nearby hotel in the future if for no other reason than to not subject clients to...
Read moreWe’ve eaten at Alfredo’s a half dozen times over the past 15 years. We’ve always found it OK (not great) and felt there was value. Tonight 7 of us went to celebrate our 28th anniversary. It took 1 hour and 38 minutes to get our entrees. The restaurant was NOT busy. When we got our food the plates were super hot and had been under heat lamps for a long time. Everyone’s food was not good for a premium price. Our meal was $340 for cheap inexpensive food poorly cooked.
No one came to apologize for the slow service. There didn’t seem to be any leadership in the place. No one even asked how things were when we were leaving. I assume they didn’t want to hear an answer.
The price is insanely expensive for inexpensive food. The experience was awful. I usually leave a 25% tip, but I left a 15% tip today which was not earned. $400 for Italian food for a party of 7 would have been extremely expensive for a well cooked and served meal, but to be charged that much for that food and that experience is a ripoff. Alfredo’s has truly “Jumped the Shark”.
I do...
