Here is my experience: the website showed coupons that didn’t work so we called in an order, we waited on hold for 4-5 minutes to order, they gave us 10$ off but got defensive and frustrated when I briefly explained the website issue, was told 45 mins but it took 80, when we got there they had just started making our food, when I mentioned timing we got lied to, we got home and was missing our paneer, and the chicken was tough. The sauces didn’t taste bad though. There’s potential here, but overall unimpressed with every step of the process here.
Edit, to respond to the owner: I appreciate the reply, as I am sure you are busy. The monetary focus of your reply seems to miss the overall point here--which is that the overall experience was not pleasant. It felt very difficult to do business with you. If you're busy and the estimated time is 80 minutes, then tell me. One of your associates said you can't tell customers that, because it's too much time. From a customer point of view, it feels like a lie in order to gain business. If the website has misinformation right now, then just tell me instead of lecturing me on how it's supposed to be 15% and not $15 off.
Anyway, I'm still rooting for you guys to improve. I won't be back any time soon, but it'd be cool to see things turn around if I do order...
Read moreI have been coming here weekly for years, and have always experienced friendly, attentive service, and wonderful Indian food. I like spicy dishes so go-tos have been the Mulligatawny Soup as a starter, and the Vindaloo, Curry, and Biryani dishes --with generally either chicken or lamb -- for my main course. I have also tried a couple of their vegetarian dishes, Aloo Chole and Aloo Baingain, which were also cooked to my spicy standards! Further, they accomplish a feat I see in too-few restaurants these days: time the arrival of your entree to coincide with exactly when you're ready for it, and the food is always hot! It goes without saying here that I always eat at the restaurant, to enjoy the full ambiance. This is an absolute gem in the heart of Maynard; you have to...
Read moreI am a heartfelt fan of Indian cuisine, and frequent most Indian restaurants in the Boston area. By far, Cafe of India exceeds all others, and I return here over and over again. I feel it is a hidden gem. Everything is amazing in terms of most authentic flavors, portion size, beautiful restaurant interior, cleanliness, and impeccable service. They simply never disappoint. My all time favorite dishes here are Yellow Dal Fry and Malai Kofta. The Naan is fresh and good. You can request spice level according to your preference. I often get take out here, or come for a nice quiet meal. They also have parking in the back, which is very convenient. I wish the restaurant owners much success, they are doing an amazing job and I'm so happy they brought Indian...
