80's Brewery — Restaurant in McAllen

Honestly this is my personal opinion, every time I’ve gone….the service is bad, they take 30 minutes at times to pick up your order, another 30 minutes to get My drinks. The ladies restroom is always trashed, the floor is flooded, toilets are backed up, or the stalls never have toilet paper! There are not enough stalls for the amount of people who go, the place is extremely packed. I’m very sure the capacity is exceeds above the city recommended requirements. That in itself causes the place to be overheated! I’ve have actually witnessed someone pass out! There are no drink specials, or much less happy hour. They need a better system when it comes to charging clients! They really need to invest in a MOBILE POS system, so customers can be charged right on the spot! And not keep them waiting 30-45 min for their bill! I’ve had to wait almost 30 minutes for my tab when I requested it, and still another 30 min to get my receipt! On top of that, as a customer, it’s within my right to request an itemized receipt! Instead I get told “oh we don’t do that here.” Don’t get my started on the music! You shouldn’t come with a false pretenses of calling your establishment and 80s bar/ brewery when you hardly play 80s music! Instead you play reaggaeton, and every other genre that is out there, that is 2000 and up! All the other bars already play that kind of music on that plaza! One last thing IMO there should be no fraternizing, or romantic relationships between employees much less managers and servers! That leads to favoritism in itself, which I have seen time and time again! If you are concerned about customers using drugs in your bathrooms? Start with looking into your employees first. They are not all clean! I was looking forward to this place as another potential fun spot for 80s dancing….. well then, I was definitely disappointed!!...

I fricken LOVE this place and I feel bad putting 3 stars because I REALLY WANT TO GIVE IT 5! But I have a few recommendations before I change it to 5 stars. I so hope you take it into consideration as this place can be even MORE amazing!

Pros- large location! Amazing music! Great DJ! Awesome dance floor! Love the energy as well! We always have a blast! Great looking crowd too of all ages!

Cons: PLEASE add strong ceiling fans, box fans or better A/C system. It’s SO hot and hard to stay for long when there is not enough air for the large location.

An increase in waitstaff or bar staff would help significantly, if possible. The night always starts strong with the service but as the place gets more packed we wait a very long time for drinks or even the chance to order...

This is NOT a place I would recommend if you're expecting to hear 80's music. They play mostly reggaeton. They do play remixed 80's hits sometimes during the week, but it always goes back to reggaeton. If the place is crowded, I recommend you get your own drinks at the bar instead of waiting for a waitress. Also, pay as you go, if you can. You'll thank me in the morning. They DO serve food here, including pizza and wings. I've never tried it, but it looked like people were enjoying it. They got rid of a whole wall of video games and replaced them with more tables, but this only makes the place look even more empty on slow nights.
