El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in McAllen

Drove up the drive thru at 9:20pm.. I waited for about 3 minutes for someone to take my order and nothing. Silence. I thought perhaps they closed early so I moved up to drive out. To my surprise there was a car at the window waiting for their order. 3 minutes later he moved up a bit to continue waiting for his order.. I am unable to drive out due to the vehicle in front so I’m now at the window myself. I look inside and only see 2 employees working, none checking the drive thru window. After about 4-5 minutes of me just waiting there, a third employee finally approaches the window and asks if I needed something. I told him I didn’t place an order since I thought they were closed. I preferred not to order since service was obviously extremely slow! The parking lot was completely empty, one car in front of me and this was already taking a good 8-10 min. I told him I was just waiting for the vehicle to move out of the way to drive out. Waste of time. I drove down to Whataburger down the street, I had ordered curbside (while parked at pollo loco) and was in and out...

Place is nice food tastes good. But, when you order a Double chicken Avocado salad you expect the double chicken for what your paying abt $8.00 for the plate. I mean if your to serve hardly chicken then change the title to the plate. A bit shysty with the chicken for the plate. And the sauce it comes with you should get 2 of them if customer request with NO CHARGE. I mean seriously sheesh most places give you 2paks of dressing yall should to. Just saying yet I was dissapointed on that. The man was very rude said if you want another you have to pay for it because your only allowed 1. I'm like uff! So much for my meal wth? Lots lettus, not enough chicken and your limited with dressing wow!. Idk your call people if you want to purchase that. I'm not saying anything about the taste they are good. It just leaves a bad bitter taste in your mouth for the price. Makes me wonder a normal chicken salad and how many pieces of chicken for that salad...

Ordered 2 burritos 1 with a combo and asked for five red salsa’s and five green. Mind you they are the size of a quarter. They refused and said they only do 1 salsa per burrito. Which is a lie because I ordered there a lot & always get that much. I can also order on the app and get as many as I choose. It’s ridiculous. They told us that we can only get the green salsa if we pay for it. Fine I’ll pay, but wouldn’t just sell me the normal tiny salsa’s they said I had to pay for a giant size for $7.99 because “it’s the same as 5 salsa’s.” It is absolutely not. I have pictures of what I bought and what 5 sides of salsa look like. It was extreme and such a dumb thing to lose a customer over. If the burritos weren’t so dry, I really wouldn’t need to add anything but this salsas help. I’ll happily take my business to Taco Palenque & enjoy more than 1 tiny...
