My husband decided to take me out to eat after he had picked me up from work. I work long stressful hours and I just wanted to enjoy my evening. However the attention-seeking waitress, Amanda, had other ideas for me. At first she seemed nice. I guess since we are so young she thought it was our first date? She said a couple things to try to make it awkward between us but we just ignored it.
The two experiences that stood out to me the most:
It was until she brought out one plate of food, which happened to be mine but since my husband and I share everything I had put it in the middle of the table so we could both eat from it while the other plate arrived. When she brought out the other plate she said, "GIRL what are you doing that is HIS plate give it back to him!" and proceeds to push it away from me while saying, "no no no" in a scolding manner. I was a little too stunned to defend myself because how is this woman going to assume I stole MY mans plate when he offered it to me? Amanda, your only job is to deliver the plate of food to the customer. When we wanted to leave she took forever to come back to the table, the restaurant was practically empty. When she finally did, my husband asks her for the bill, what was her response? "Awww your going to leave me?" in a flirtatious tone while only facing his direction. Thank god my edible had kicked in, because I would have roundhouse kicked her. I am so grateful to have a man who actually gives a damn about my feelings because he was quick to shut her up and I told her that we were actually married. Her lousy excuse was, "it was only a joke." and "that's how she jokes with all of her customers." Amanda if we wanted entertainment, we would have gone to a comedy show! Your only job is to serve customers the meal that they are paying for! She left to get the bill but took about 15 minutes to return with it.
We have been to places like twins peaks, hooters, ojos locos numerous times and not one beautiful lady working there has ever treated me like this in front of my husband. You know some people are not bothered by such things. It was just pretty sad to how little respect she had for herself and for me. She made my husband uncomfortable with her comments. He was upset at the fact that we couldn't enjoy our meal without her popping up and saying something weird towards him. In the end, I still managed to smile at her but behavior was disrespectful and annoying. She had no professionalism whatsoever. But knowing that I left with a good attitude is what made everything...
Read moreI went to Applebee's with a good friend of mine, it's located on N. 10th street, a couple of blocks from Violet Ave. We ordered our usual iced tea. We were starving so we ordered a burger and fries for an appetizer. My friend also ordered a house salad to start with, which he never received until we mentioned it to our server. For our meals He ordered the Shrimp and Parmesan Sirloin for $19.59, he also subbed his veggies for pasta. I ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp $14.99. I also ordered a side of garlic and lemon green beans which I never received until I was able to mention it to our server. My friend never received his shrimp nor the Parmesan sauce on his Steak as mentioned in the menu. Once he informed our server of the missing shrimp, she brought out the Shrimp way before I ever got my green beans. I finally received the beans half way through the meal, and they were pretty good. I really like my dish because the blackened chicken was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. I loved the grilled onions and mushrooms that came with the meal. Oh, I switched the mashers for fries and glad I did. I tried my friends mashed potatoes and they were super stiff and I couldn't taste the roasted garlic at all. He gave me a piece of his Sirloin Steak and I was surprised as to how tender it was. Over all it was a very good food experience, but not so much on the service. Would I go back again, Yes! And I would definitely order the blackened chicken again or...
Read moreTerrible experience! Applebee's used to be a place where not only good food was served but the service was also something to look for. Last Wednesday I went to this location, the bartender asked for my ID, no problem with that, however she studied my ID as if she worked for the FBI, at a point I thought she might need my birth certificate, ridiculous. After this I ordered a "Guinness" beer, this she served it to me from a can which she really did not know how to pour it in the glass for she could not pour it all in the glass due to the cream of the mentioned beer, showing ZERO skills as a bartender. She was very rude and I gave her the feeling that because of this she could not expect a tip and so the service got even worse, so I finished my beer and left. Thought of letting the manager know, but rather posted...
