A last-minute decision to dine at City Cafe turned out to be unexpectedly disappointing. As someone with a culinary background, I found the food mediocre - but acceptable for a convenient lunch.

Upon arrival I was greeted by owners wife. Dining alone, I was offered a seat at the counter. I politely declined and instead chose an available table at random. She ( owners wife) informed me it was a "popular" table usually occupied by "people,"and suggested sit elsewhere-despite the table being neither reserved nor in use

Looking in the mirror that morning, I was reminded that I took am a person. Her response felt unnecessary, pointed, and exclusionary.

In today's climate, where inclusion matters more then ever, buisness owners must be mindful of how their words and actions are received. Many patrons- including myself- have supported City Cafe for years. Dismissing someone based on perceived status or assumptions is not only poor hospitality; it borders on discrimination.

I went to City Cafe on a Saturday afternoon. I was promptly greeted and offered a table. My server (Andrew) suggested the chicken fettuccine. He also let me know that it had spinach & mushrooms to be sure I was ok with those ingredients. I have to say that I was very pleased with my order. The amount of sauce was just right, and you could tell it was made from scratch. The chicken was tender and the pasta was perfect. I do have to say here that I would have preffered a flatter noodle, but the portion and taste were great. It was served with a very soft and crusty garlic bread. I almost requested more of that, but I was already overdoing the carbs. The restaurant had a clean and chic diningroom, and there was also seating available outside. From the amount of people dining there, I could tell this is a local favorite spot. I would definitely recommend City Cafe, and I'm looking forward to visiting again. They had what looked to be homemade desserts that I'll try on...

The food is homemade and marinaded for at least a day....the flavors are phenomenal.....the tomato basil soup is too die for!!!!! The city chicken salad on avocado is fabulous!!!!!! I have never experienced a hamburger in this solar system that was so delicious and did not need mayonnaise or ketchup....yep it was that juicy!!!! You will absolutely not be disappointed by the food,,,,,the owners also come around and chit chat with you while you are eating. Making sure that you are happy with your meal choice, and bringing you samples of other entrées so you decide for your next visit. Beside the terrific food,.I appreciate the owners, remembering everyone that comes in....they remember and call you by name when you return!!!!! My wife is blind and all the owners and staff made sure that she was totally taken care of....the gesture was very much...

We recently revisited City Café, a charming establishment we hadn’t frequented in years, and were warmly welcomed by the owner, Steve, whose gracious hospitality set the tone for a delightful evening. He expertly crafted us a pair of exquisite margaritas, each bursting with vibrant flavor. Opting for the evening’s special, we savored bacon cheeseburgers that were nothing short of phenomenal—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and masterfully prepared. The staff’s friendliness and courteous service further elevated our experience, while the inviting ambience, with its tasteful decor and relaxed atmosphere, created a truly memorable dining experience. We eagerly anticipate our return to City Café.

We stopped by spontaneously to celebrate a friend’s birthday and were so glad we did. The owner Stephen was welcoming. He came right over to greet us with a down to earth vibe and great energy. He even checked in on us throughout the meal, which made us feel like regulars on our first visit. Our waitress was also friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. We ordered the meatloaf, grilled steak medallions, and the chipotle beef wrap. The wrap was so good! I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. The excellent service alone is reason enough to return. Great food, great vibes, and genuine hospitality.
