Harvey’s On Tenth — Restaurant in McAllen

Okay this is my first time here and I really like the vibe but my only issue is the Covid-safety measures taken by their staff. There doesn’t seem to be any social distancing measures being taken at the bar to prevent people from sitting too close to another. Also, I have seen several staff members wear their masks on their chins, pull it down to talk to each other while they make the drinks, or talk to patrons at the bar with it completely off their face. Some have forgotten to pull them back up and wear them as a chin strap. I know it’s difficult to hear anyone because of the loud music but maybe lowering the music a bit to ensure customers/staff hear one another. That seems the reason why they keep pulling the masks down is because they can’t hear. Their tacos were good and the burger was good too.

I really want to like this place but the lack of awareness that their mask is down puts me off from...

I never write reviews but this place deserves one. I’ve been here once and was treated just fine, but my second time there this weekend was pretty bad. As others have said the staff is extremely rude. It does seem like they have some regulars/friends and if you’re not one you will get neglected. I was blatantly ignored multiple times and when I caught one of the bartenders attention not only did he ignore me to talk to a friend, when he did take my order he didn’t say one word to me....

For being a pub it definitely didn't have the atmosphere I was hoping for. Although it did have a lot of the old, regulars you would expect. The ones the bartender knows their drink on sight. It was overall ok. The beer was good as its the same everywhere. The food was alright once I asked for a menu. Again, nothing much to talk about. There was very little background music and the bartender was ok. Not friendly but not bad. I enjoyed Bourbon St a lot more as far as bars...
