So disappointed in the service that I received today. This has been our go to spot for a very long time and we have always received great service but today was different, since the moment that I started ordering I noticed an attitude from the lady who took my order. I ordered 2 Tortas Cubanas and i asked her for one of them without mustard, please keep in mind that I’ve been here countless of times, i know my order and i know that the one that I ordered has mustard. She proceeded to stop me mid sentence and said “it doesn’t have mustard”, I paid for my food and proceeded to sit down but that was on my mind, they’re going to mess up my food because i know it has mustard but she’s claiming it doesn’t so she’s not inputing it for the kitchen to see. We receive our salads that come with the food and they usually ask us if we want any salsas, she did not, which is ok! My boyfriend asked her for their salsa and she gave us a face, brought our salsa and left, no “anything else” like how other employees have done so. She said nothing, just dropped it off and walked away, we let it slide. When our food came to the table i whispered to my boyfriend “Aw man it has onions” but the one we ordered doesn’t come with onions so we noticed she brought us 2 completely different Tortas. We told her politely that this wasn’t our order and she had this tone with us when she asked “are you sure? Because this is what you asked for”.. the food is delicious from there, had she have been nicer since the beginning we would have probably taken the mistake and have eaten what she brought us but she had a really ugly attitude and it was so...

Great little Mexican restaurant with amazing tortas. Ive tried their Cubana, Italiana, and La Portuguesa. I usually always get the combo with their salad which has such a delicious cilantro dressing, like for real you'll want to out this dressing on everything. They use pan francés (French bread) and it's very fresh, and have the best jamaica. This last visit I decided to switch it up and ordered the Ternera y Pierna torta with the soup of the day which was the Sopa de calabaza (zucchini soup), and Horchata. I'm not a fan of Horchata because it's usually overwhelmingly sugary, but holy cow this was delicious it was like the perfect level of sweetness but great paired with the torta and soup. The soup was really flavorful but I would have hoped for it to be less runny. I prefer the consistency of the zucchini soup from Siempre Natural but Las Tortas wins by a long shot in the flavor category. NOW the main event! The TORTA! The Ternera y Pierna is definitely a MUST try. It's shredded beef, pulled pork, chicharrón (pork rinds), tomato, onion, sour cream, and avocado, topped with dressing. I added their green salsa to the torta for the perfect flavor explosion. The staff and owners are all great people and do a great job at making sure the place is clean and check up on you regularly. I love this restaurant and make it a point to eat here when in McAllen. Seriously the...

First let me make this clear...what is a 5 star review. 5 stars means top notch...service, quality, taste, presentation etc. Not every establishment is 5 stars...so not getting 5 stars is not bad.

I found the tortas here to be par for the course. I honestly don't even remember the specific torta I had ordered.

The pricing is good...nice place for people on a budget. The place feels very hole in the wall, and there isn't much seating. It's not a knock on the place...but an observation. They served us fideo as a small appetizer. I admit, the fideo had momma's home cooked taste...but does fideo go with tortas as a complement? I honestly didn't feel the connection, but it was tasty.

The torta itself...nothing popped. I believe I had the ternera. The bread had a nice crunch, the pulled pork wasn't dry but was lacking flavor. It had house made mayo I believe but it didn't draw my attention. What was the sandwich missing? Little more soul? A little more love? It was good...but just that.

5 stars is top notch 4 stars is great..with minor flaws 3 stars...it was average. Not a bad...

Los Tortas. When I am in the valley and want a great sandwich, I stop by Los Tortas. I grab the De La Barda combo. The torta comes with black beans, queso fresco, avocado, ham, shredded beef, Mexican chorizo, onion, and tomato on a French bread. The combo comes with a soup or salad. I usually grab a cilantro salad, and an Aguas Fresca Jamaica. Both of which are included with the combo. Lots of salsas to choose from. I get the cacahuate (peanut) sauce and throw it on the sandwich. It's got a nice kick. They are always on point here.

Fresh, tasty, made-to-order (not fast, but quick enough for short lunch break). Vegetarian options, such as caprese torta (bolillo bread.) Order and pay at the register. Photos of what you can order are on the walls. Large menu board over open kitchen top. Tortas, tacos--not Reynosa style, but still good: fajitas with Spanish chirizo (looks/tastes like Texas sausage). HOT peanut hot sauce! Tasty, but add only a few drops. Cilantro salad is great. Salad it soup du jour option for combo. Drive-thru has no speaker: order at window.
