Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in McAllen

I can sincerely say that I actually enjoyed not only the food but atmosphere as well...it was absolutely delicious and perhaps one of the most comforting family oriented fast food establishments I’ve visited in years! My trip here was purely coincidental as my daughter and I are students at a nearby school for mústianos and we were looking for a place to eat ... The menu offers a variety of items and combos from fish to burgers to hot dogs all reasonably priced ! Oh, they have custard and ice cream as well! There is plenty of parking and designated handicap areas to enter near the door.. everything is wheel chair accesible in regards to the openness of the restaurant and enough tables to sit comfortably as the tables have dividers to isolate you from the table behind you.. this restaurant is central to many other businesses which are a hop and a skip away. Daniel the restaurant manager and Rachel ( assistant manager) were very cordial and welcoming... they made us feel right at home! Marcos another manager which I met on a previous occasion was also very accommodating.. Been here a few times and it's been consistently good. The prices are on par with similar types of restaurants and the menu is simple: burgers, dogs and custard. On this particular visit in had the double patty with bacon combo. As seen in the picture the patties are somewhat similar to Five guys in that they are smaller, thinner than a burger from, let's say Wallbangers. Not pictured is the bacon they forgot to add but one word with a staff member and it was brought to me within minutes. The patties are small but they are juicy and flavorful and the bacon was nice and crisp, not over done. Regarding the fries, they are thinner than most places but they are crisp (my preference) and are seasoned with Freddy seasoning. For extra flavor grab some special sauce that can be used as a condiment on most anything except the custard. Not sure that's a great combo. Have been to a few Freddy's elsewhere. Since we arrived the place seemed a bit dirty and floor was sticky around chair tables. We just thought they had finished a rush at 4pm Sunday so it might be justified. We ordered 2 doubles and a kids chicken menu. Wife said her burger was salty, tasted hers and it was very salty. Had mine was salty but kind of washed it out with a lot of sauce. We're not picky eaters. My little one started off with fries which were a tad salty but I guess u can expect it on fries. When she tried the tenders she spit it out. I tried one myself and again was VERY salty. I just let the girl at the counter know that I've been to Freddy's around Houston and this was nowhere near the quality I'm used to. I never ask for refunds just unfortunately we won't be coming back even if it might have been a bad day. Did let them know and I hope management can do something about it for...
