Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center — Hotel in McAllen

Hilton's Embassy Suites in McAllen, Texas I've never had a better stay than this one. Kindly take note of the attached photos. Everything is really simple to use with the app. Even if your reservation is made months in advance of your actual arrival, the chat feature begins as soon as you book. Either Maximilian or Jorge responds to the chat request almost immediately. They fulfill all of the requests. When I arrived, I used the app to check in and get my digital room key! There's no need to go to reception. But I did manage to obtain the card keys. The personnel was incredibly courteous and competent. The suite was fantastic. Perfectly tidy, with extremely safe doors, the bathroom was spacious and cozy. There were many of towels. large, bright mirrors. The bedroom was large, with spotless pillows and blankets. It was even larger in the living room! The kitchen was nearly finished, including a fantastic coffee maker and microwave. Large sink with lots of storage. The comforting sound of the air conditioner was quiet. Overall, the lighting was excellent, and there were plenty of power outlets and charging connections. The fact that you can't hear the people in the rooms above or to your sides is really impressive. However, one evening, the family whose suite was above mine had kids, and they were bouncing around and making loud noises. I texted the front desk, and ten minutes later, I was given the option to switch to a different suite, or if I preferred, they offered to move the family to another suite. I stayed, and everything went smoothly. Amazing personnel (Jorge)!. The cleaning of the room was done quickly, effectively, and competently. The meeting rooms were excellent. The restaurant has excellent food, quick service, and lovely inside and outdoor seating, which made it quite appealing. The daily complimentary breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of delectable options. The hotels outside are wonderful; they are spotless and have lots of electric car chargers. The performing arts complex and a stunning set of water falls are in the vicinity. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants at the nearby mall, which is conveniently walkable. The hotel has lots of paths for jogging and walking. gorgeous landscape. All the facilities were present, and the pool was one-fourth the size of an Olympic pool. The gym was decent; two treadmills weren't working, but the other two were in good condition and only required oiling because they were making loud, screeching noises. The stationary bikes and several elliptical machines were in excellent condition. Almost every other day, the staff sends the guest a chat message to make sure everything is alright. Pluses & a few minuses. Our room was really excellent. Great value & one of the nicer this-level accommodation I've stayed in. Great layout, a real 'living-room' with user-friendly-kitchen, HUGE bathroom (definitely the highlight & impeccably designed) & great separate bedroom with super-comfy beds, ambient lighting & focus on comfort and awesome view overlooking Convention Center park/small lake. Good TV's in both rooms with personal welcome; tea & coffee selection decent, though our coffee maker was old & very dinged & our alarm clock did not work. Very clean. Some normal stains & scuffs you would expect for a medium-level-hotel but would not be acceptable in higher-level-hotels, especially those on carpet. We dined-in after a long business day; the hotel food was adequate & the young-man who brought it, very professional & friendly. Highlights included: The view. The cleanliness. The quiet (hotel very quiet at night). The pool. The bar. The bathroom was FANTASTIC best bathroom at that level I've stayed in & super clean with good products & fluffy towels. The downside: Front Desk Staff; one man throughout our stay who was incredibly assumptive. Believing us to be medium-income he was patently less friendly and obliging than others he perceived to be higher-income. Ironically whilst we were casually dressed, this was inaccurate, as we spend a lot traveling internationally & in hotels. I used to work for The Gallivanter's Guide, so I know hotels. Big mistake on his part to make any assumption. Don't appreciate Front Desk Staff being less than helpful, not greeting us when we came in, or making me wait for ages for a room when rooms were available and he gave several to others before 'remembering' I was sitting there. No apology. He was more friendly to men than women & not an asset for your hotel overall. All other staff were friendly. Also; whilst breakfast was decent & plentiful, there was a live cockroach on my seat which was off-putting. I did let kitchen staff know. Overall the hotel was clean so this was likely a one-off, but worth noting. I would return to this hotel when in McAllen, likely it's one of the best & with good reason. Beautiful location. Excellent sized & well configured rooms. Clean & quiet. A few minor adjustments in insuring staff are more welcoming when arriving & checking-out & this would be a destination many would return to gladly. Disastrous Experience at Embassy Suite Hotel: A Breach of Trust

My recent stay at Embassy Suite Hotel was an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that others do not fall victim to the deceptive reputation this hotel has online. It was meant to be a relaxing time with my family, but it turned into a distressing ordeal as we discovered that valuable articles had gone missing during our stay.

First and foremost, I am appalled by the lack of security and trustworthiness demonstrated by Embassy Suite Hotel. It is astounding that a hotel with such a supposedly stellar reputation could be involved in theft from its customers. Instead of providing a safe and enjoyable environment for their guests, the hotel appears to have allowed criminal activity to take place under their roof.

During our stay, we discovered that several of our valuable possessions were missing. It was evident that someone had rummaged through our belongings and made off with items that held sentimental value to us. The fact that this happened while we were supposed to be enjoying our stay is beyond disheartening. Our trust in the hotel's staff and management has been irreparably shattered.

The response from the hotel staff was equally disappointing. When we reported the theft, the staff showed a complete lack of concern and failed to take appropriate action. It was clear they were more interested in downplaying the situation than helping us recover our stolen items. This lack of support in a time of distress is inexcusable.

Embassy Suite Hotel has completely shattered its reputation for being a reliable and trustworthy establishment. The fact that they allowed such a situation to occur is not only a breach of trust but also a violation of the basic standards of customer service and safety that any hotel should uphold.

I strongly advise anyone considering a stay at Embassy Suite Hotel to think twice. Their online reputation is a facade that conceals the true lack of security and professionalism within their establishment.
