Gorditas Doña Lula — Restaurant in McAllen

I enjoyed the gorditas I ate there. The salsa isn't crazy hot but spicy enough for me especially if you're not a fan of spicy chile, I did shed a tear from it but it was worth it. The gorditas are cooked just right, not soggy and not extremly crispy. Very tasty and delicious. They have a variety of fillings to select from and they offer a couple of sides too. You can purchase family deals, breakfast gordits, lunch gorditas, and kids combos and adult combos. They also sell desserts. Drinks are fountain drinks, aguas, soda cans, and coffee. It is a small place but it gets a crowd. I would definitely eat here again because it made me think of my abuelita making gorditas and stuffing them with deliciousness and wanting to eat...

It’s an authentic Mexican place. The gorditas were scrumptious, not doughy at all. The decebrada, picadillo and asado de puerco was on point. I imagine if they don’t answer, it’s because they are busy. If you didn’t grow up Mexican, you don’t know how Mexican women cook. Really bad customer service. Attendant seemed annoyed with my questions about the menu. She acted like if she was doing me a favor with assisting and serving me. I went ahead and place an order due to my craving of gorditas but after I sat to wait and saw the place I new it was a big mistake. I have never been to this place and I had the worst first experience. The floor was dirty and there were a few flies in the dining area. The top of the trash can was overstocked with dirty trays.
