Dining while Black (Black/ African👸🏽 ⚠️⛔️people) be careful (I don’t believe this is an establishment that wants Black/ African looking people to Payton)
The experience was lack luster… the service was extremely slow…the food was basic to say the least.
The over all micro aggressions , blatantly ignoring black people while catering towards Spanish speaking non black people is unacceptable .
Myself and my husband went for a dining experience to enjoy our anniversary. We were completely treated as sub human. Order of food were completely wrong after asking to the errors to be corrected .. being spoken to as if the chef is doing me a personal favor and I need to “clam down “ is his word as the other non black patrons of the restaurant enjoy their meal of exuberantly large amount of food that they might I add didn’t order . As myself and my husband get the scraps he scraped off the grill as a second thought . A child was dinning and had more food on her plate then my over 30 year old husband who is Afghanistan 🇦🇫 war veteran . When mentioned again that my husband didn’t get his food we are reluctantly given 4 extremely small shrimp . Before they even warmed up we kindly chose to leave And pay our bill because I will not beg for food Iam paying for and be expected to pay for another Payton dining experience.
The manager was well informed and was extremely helpful and understanding of how disrespectful & disgusting that behavior was . And he was swift in his actions and very apologetic towards us after is abysmal experience
Discriminatory behavior towards someone just because they don’t look like you is unacceptable !
And be advised just because someone isn’t speaking Spanish doesn’t mean they don’t understand everything you are saying . (I understood everything that was said in conversation over me )
Stop discrimination against non Spanish speaking black people
Our money is just as green
To conclude my experience I would advise against this establishment dinning while black and non Spanish speaking no respect for United state military personnel/ disabled veterans
That chef in particular food was horrible Iv had better food in...
Read moreHayashi Hibachi is located on the north east corner of 10th st. and Dove Ave. I went there for a meeting with friends to eat but not for the show cooking. We didn't sit around one of the Hibachi grills but rather at a table in a section behind the bar/ sushi bar ( two sided) . Honestly I thought the section where we ate was a bit drab and plain in decor. Also I noticed alot of wet floor signs that take away from the decor. Anyways, back to the beginning, I walked in and wasn't greeted, so I started looking around and took a few pics, when a young lady came up to me and asked if she could help me(rudely). I said I was here to meet friends, and if I could look for them, I instantly got the impression she didn't want me walking around, so I asked if I could wait at the bar. She told me the waiting area was these couches by the entrance. I immediately thought this lady knows nothing about service or starting a tab to get a guest spending money. I waited there looking at my phone when a text arrived that my friends were already seated in the back. I joined my friends, and they had already ordered me a sushi roll. When the waitress showed up with the food, I ordered my drink and a noodle dish with vegetables. The roll was okay decent presentation, but no WoW flavors popping. Once my noodles arrived it was the same experience, nothing really registered as flavorful, there were no vegetables to speak of, just the tipical Lo mein veggies of onion and carrots, (I was hoping for broccoli, bok choy, squash) and the presentation was lackluster. I don't think I can give a fair review based on the fact that I didn't experience the Hibachi, but from what I did experience with the food, and the lack of good service both from the server and the hostess I...
Read moreI’ve visited Hayashi Hibachi several times, and unfortunately never had the time to write a honest review, the issues I noticed before haven't been addressed. The most recent visit was extremely concerning. While waiting for a chef at the hibachi grill, I saw a roach crawling on the cooking surface. It then fell onto the floor, which was, as usual, visibly dirty. This is completely unacceptable and ruined the entire experience, as well as loss of appetite.
Beyond the hygiene issues, the restaurant's presentation is lacking. The staff still aren't wearing proper uniforms, and their attire is inconsistent and unprofessional. Something as simple as a designated uniform for each day would make a huge difference. Slip-resistant shoes are also a must for safety and a more professional look.
To top it off, I'm almost certain my drink was swapped when I asked for a refill. I specifically removed my straw before handing it to the server, but it came back with a new straw while another person at my table didn't receive a straw with their refill. This makes me question the restaurant's practices and attention to detail.
The dirty floors and lack of proper uniforms have been a consistent problem on several of my visits. While the food is decent, the hygiene concerns and questionable drink handling are major red flags. I do not really recommend Hayashi Hibachi until they address these serious issues and prioritize cleanliness and professionalism.
