Los Salseados — Restaurant in McAllen

Went on a Friday evening and there was no wait and got seated right away. Beautiful restaurant that’s decorated very nicely. I love that they make the salsa fresh for you right in front of your table that was pretty neat. It’s pretty chilly in here just fyi and the chairs that they have are very flimsy. Both my kids fell off of them. My kids had the nuggets w fries which you can tell are frozen which is fine but you can also tell they fry them in the same oil as their fish because they do after a fishy taste. I ordered a mojito for $11 and could not taste any alcohol whatsoever. I ordered the Molcajete toro pesado and it was very fresh. My husband ordered the rib eye chicharron which was a $35 plate and all that came with it was the pieces of ribeye and guacamole. We might give this place another try without the kids and try...

Place looked like a good spot to grab great food. Overall I’d say this would not be a good place for a quick lunch. A couple of co-workers (party of 10) and I stop by during our lunch hour to celebrate a colleague for her birthday. After a long wait we had to end up leaving, our food ended up taking over an hour. Several of our friends stay behind to get our food to go. It never actually made it out when we were there. Not to mentioned the restaurant was not even at a rush hour level. Very unpleasant experience. After getting our food back at our office, came to find out our portion was not worth the wait and the charge. Obviously being a party of 10 we had to pay the 18% waiting fee. Despite our checks being all separate, we ended up paying 30dls total on a serving fee. Don’t know if I’d be back...

Meh. We visited the establishment because of a recommendation from Forkit. The food was ok. I had the grilled salmon. It came on a wooden platter with crab salad and white rice. The salmon was grilled nicely but was smothered with a red sauce that kind of ruined it. It would have been much better without the red sauce. The table-made molcajete salsa was a nice touch and very tasty. But what gives this review such a low score was the service. My husband never got his entree!! The waiter was so busy he did not even look our way. We had to flag him down to get his attention. I think the restaurant has at least twenty tables. From what I could tell he was the only person on the floor. The restaurant needs to figure out their staffing. Or close off a section to make it easier...
