Pollo Palenque Mission TX — Restaurant in McAllen

I wanted to buy lunch for my friends so I went by Pollo Palenque on the expressway and Taylor Rd. In Mission. I ordered from the drive thru, I wanted breast meat and Leg meat, rice and beans, corn and flour tortillas, and salsa. I repeated the order, but this time I said white and dark meat. When I got home I opened it up and it was all thigh and drums. I immediately bagged up the chicken and headed back to the restaurant. I saw the manager when I walked in and asked him if he was indeed the manager. He said yes, so I explained the situation and showed him my receipt. . His response was the price I paid was for the leg meat combo. I rebuttaled that's not what I ordered, and that I had specifically stated "I wanted both white and dark meat". He then referred to the menu that was stapled to the bag and showed me what was given to me. He never got my point, that I wasn't concerned about the price as much as I was about getting what I wanted. He ended up giving me three pieces of chicken breast, but I had to wait another 10 minutes to get it. The chicken breast turned out to be a bit dry, and the rice overcooked. The beans were Ok, the salsa and tortillas were really good. Also, the breast were a decent size, but the thigh meat ( cut in half as two pieces) and the drums were really small. WORST SERVICE EVER. I went through the drive thru after I got out of work because its on my way home and as I was ordering my food everything seemed to be fine. It was until I went to the window that the lady seemed to have a problem with me. I was on the phone and ended the call so I could pay and give her my attention. When I handed over my card the lady seemed to take my card from my hand and roll her eyes at me. I didnt say anything because I thought she may be having a bad day. Then I get my food from a different lady who seemed to also have a problem with me she hands me my bag and as I am reaching for my bag of food I ask if there was chips in the bag she ignored me and didnt say anything so I check inside the bag and say ok thank you. I was still ignored and had the door slammed in my face and saw the lady walk off. I AM NEVER ONE TO COMPLAIN BUT THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME AT THAT LOCATION WHERE I HAVE RECEIVED BAD SERVICE THIS IS JUST THE FIRST TIME IM SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. My greatest appreciation to the management and upper management team of this establishment, my wife and I had a minor issue with the cashier and a member of the kitchen staff, regarding an order we wanted that varied a slight bit from the original menu item that resulted in us leaving the restaurant without placing any order at all. I contacted the the main office and within minutes we received phone calls from both the District manager and general manager who were both super professional and genuinely concerned about our experience within their restaurant and went above and beyond to make it right ,WOW! you don't see customer service like this nowadays. Turns out it was a simple misunderstanding due to a training issue with their employees that was corrected right away, we look forward to revisiting this establishment in the future.
