I just moved to McAllen texas and I have never been here before but I read the reviews and they were good and my friend loves it and said it was good. And we decided to go on Christmas Day 2020 since I am unable to cook at the place I’m living at. Upon arriving the staff behind register where we paid for the meal before eating . She was a bit rude when we asked if they had a Christmas special deal. She said “no” that’s fine. The hostess brought us to our table and refused to let us sit in the booth area and only gave us one set of gloves and didn’t tell us where to get our gloves and sanitizer from at the stations the restaurant had set up and was a bit rude when we asked if she was our server. Our server then came around and asked what we wanted to drink but I wasn’t at the table at the time and he proceeded to find me at the buffet and asked me and I told him a “Mountain Dew” and he said “okay” I proceeded to get my food coming back to the table the waiter had brought me Sierra Mist instead of Mountain Dew. So I had to flag him down and asked him for a Mountain Dew when he said they didn’t have Mountain Dew or coke but had Pepsi which is fine with me. While I was getting my food my friend proceeded to tell me the table was never cleaned and it was sticky and dirty so he had to clean it again and that our waiter tried to blame the cleaning product. I understand with COVID everyone is struggle to make it by but with COVID I would’ve expected the restaurant to be cleaning the tables as it wasn’t that busy much at all. During our meal I will say the food is good my chicken on a stick was cold, and during the meal the electricity was flickering on and off for a brief moment we were eating in the dark. After our meal I came home with my friend and we were just relaxing I went to check my bank account and upon checking it I seen that the restaurant charged me an extra 6$ that I did not authorize and that was not and is not seen at the restaurant on my receipt or on my receipt I have taken home. Over all the food was fine for the price but I will not be eating here again as it’s disappointing to know the staff doesn’t really respect their customers. Friends note; staff is not curtesy and you don’t feel like a customer more just like something...
Read moreI was craving a good chinese buffet so I really wanted to like this place, but from the beginning the experience was not that pleasant. For starters, my husband and I went on a Saturday at around 2pm. For the both of us, including drinks, the total was $45. Yes that's right. FORTY-FIVE AMERICAN DOLLARS. For two people and two drinks. I figured well okay hopefully for what they're charging, it should be worth it. I was so horribly wrong. After we paid, we then gave the hostess our receipt and she led us to our table. Our table was in the middle of the dining area just awkwardly in the middle. I was so confused considering there were other areas available that were more comfortable for us but we were sat in the middle of the dining room completely surrounded awkwardly. Then, it came to the food. The mongolian area was closed. Okay, then remove that inconvenience from the price. The sushi area had maybe max 6 selections. Not worth it. I tried a little bit of everything from the chinese selection and if I am being completely honest. Only 4 things from that selection were satisfactory which was the honey chicken, spicy chicken, teriyaki chicken, and the lo mein. My husband tried the seafood options and he said, and I agree, that everything was so. salty. We were there for maximum 10-15 minutes due to such little selection for us and the awkward table seating. $45 for mediocre food that was ate in a sad 15 minutes. With that in mind, please take your money somewhere else. Even Kurai would be a way better option than this, or even your local chinese restaurant would have been better. Oh well, we tried it, but we are never...
Read moreThe cleanliness to this place is subpar which is why I would not be returning. Took my mom to this place so she can stop wondering if the food is good or not. We went after 5ish and paid $35 for a senior and adult with 2 drinks. When we were seated, the table had some sticky substance still on the table that I wiped up. We got our plates and sat down and when looking at the utensils that were brought to us...the fork was obviously not cleaned very well and still had wet food leftover from previous person. I returned it to the lady in the front who was wiping utensils off with a towel which was unsettling to me and requested she hand me some plastic utensils instead. On coming back to the table and fetching my food, I had to go through plates to find a clean one because the first few still had remaining food leftover on the dish itself. The cleanliness of this place is very questionable. The food on the other hand was okay but not the best. Their octopus tentacles were gummy and obviously overcooked, the breading was falling apart but the flavor was there. Most of the dishes the flavor was there but the look was not so convincing to want to eat. I settled for some sushi which I probably would have settled for some HEB sushi instead. Their wontons were great, one of the dishes I actually preferred over everything they had. Wouldn't reccomend overall as tongs touch just about every food item but that's just the communities fault as well. The floors are badly stained everywhere. It was just too much for what they...
