The restaurant was a total delight!
This was our first time visiting and the experience was exceptional from beginning to end.
We ordered the chilaquiles with egg, saffron noodles with grilled chicken, sopa de fideo, cucumber tea and a café lechero.
The thing that probably stands out the most, aside from presentation, are the sauces. The poblano sauce on the chilaquiles was dense, creamy and the flavors balanced well without overpowering each other. A spicy salsa was also brought out and it was so good, you could eat it on its own.
Everyone seems to enjoy the potatoes and they did not disappoint. The fideo tasted homemade.
Both drinks were good. The lemonade had little bits of cucumber and was served in a large glass. I didn’t even get a chance to finish it. Although it was hot outside, the lechero was worth it.
The noodles had a crunchy chili oil on the side that complemented the milder flavors of the dish.
Service was attentive, patient and welcoming. Everything about this was inviting us back, and we plan to.
Just note that the restaurant hours are not accurate on Google. It’s opened 8AM-3PM Tuesday through Saturday and 10AM-3PM on Sunday. Mondays...
Read moreWe were excited to try this place out but had a bad experience here. We went in and were not greeted or acknowledged, so we walked up to the stand and had to ask. The lady behind said that she couldn't provide a wait time, nor did she ask my name. Told her we would wait outside for a table for 3. After 30 minutes of waiting, we went to see how much longer and we saw that they gave our spot to another couple who had just walked in. They wanted to sqeeze us into a table for 2. We told them we wanted the table but they choose to ignore us and seat the couple instead. By the way the person's name is Jesus Franco ! By the way they will be opening a place from san antonio in april its called Another Broken Egg cafe that has never treated...
Read moreFirst off the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It was my first time here and I went solo and they were very nice and shared their recommendations. The biscuits and jam given are super tasty and a nice touch. Latte cup is huge so worth the price. The wait time for your food is a bit on the longer side, but it’s made to order, so I don’t mind waiting. I ordered the poblano chilaquiles and the flavor was really good and a big serving, but my eggs were way over cooked (ordered over medium).
The only negative thing I have to say is that although the sitting area is small, it gets VERY warm. I started sweating while seated and it doesn’t help the door is opening and closing so frequently letting in...
