I'm an actual patron and not a friend of the bar and here is my experience. The only thing good about the dive is karaoke DJ Rolldog and the live band. They list a drink price up on the board and then they overcharge you wonderful I'm out no thanks I prefer honesty. When I ordered the hornitos with orange slice they told me it was a ridiculous price and not the price listed@7$ So be cautious they like to apparently over charge and over price things. Agressive bouncer and bar manager. They slandered my friend and attacked his character in front of others and that's not okay. This was very embarrassing for my friend. They made him pay for a drink that he was not allowed to even consume after slandering him and that's not okay either. This was on the 4th of July night 2023. I don't recommend a bar that *****falsely***** accuses people of drug use in their bathroom or place. We do not do drugs, only the legal one alcohol which they sell. They should apologize for their behavior and refund the drink as well as reconsider who they hire (people on power trips) or get out of the bar business all together, if this is how they treat an upstanding patron consuming their goods.

Went with coworkers to celebrate with some karaoke. Ordered this Irish drink. We’d been there waiting to go up for 3 HOURS! & the older lady in charge of karaoke just kept singing solos back to back. She then proceeded to say on the mic if anyone on the singing list wants to go next she would need $100… ridiculous! We paid $15 in “tip” as they called it & still never got to go because “you need to tip at least $20” I wanna know if this is right??? It was uneventful. Lady hogging the mic was insufferable, my coworkers and I were so upset since we usually do karaoke night every other Sunday, not a great experience. I recommend going to The Flying Walrus! their karaoke is good, fun, fast and not hogged with DJ Venom.

So this was my first time going (Wed. Karaoke night), though I would go regularly when it was The Office. I can honestly say The Dive is amazing and really gets it right, with probably the coldest beer I've had in McAllen. The food was great, well served, and flavorful. The service was exceptional, both servers were attentive and very willing to explain the drink and food menu to my party and I. Prices are extremely reasonable, and I'm not just referring to happy hour. As for the atmosphere, once you're inside I guarantee you will not want to leave. It's inviting, and you can easily go alone, in a small group, or even anl large one and you will feel welcomed. I will be definitely be going again!!!

Ok, I really liked this bar until tonight. The manager and waiter were very out of sync OR PLANING ON SCREWING PEOPLE OVER (probably the second one). We got there and ordered our drinks, appetizers, and plates as usual. There was this female server greeting us at our table so we ordered our usual (two) drinks. Then two more drinks. Everything ok until this man (waiter/manager) came over and said, "I'll bring you two shots, what do you want?" We were like, "no, we don't usually drink shots, so... we don't know... Are they going to be free?" Since we never tried ordering shots. The guys said, "yes! So boring! Do you want lollipop, etc, etc." I said, "sure, whatever you fill like." So they brought two shots. Fast forward to the end, they ended up charging us the two shots AND one extra martini with the rest of what we ordered, because they "didn't communicate about it and ordered two martinis instead of one to the bartender." I was OK with the extra martini, but not ok with the shots they charged, since we never had the intention of ordering them. So I told the guy (who was acting like a supervisor/manager) about it. He said he'd take care of it, but of course he never did. Anyway, we ended up paying for everything and leaving. So here's your head up with the people working there. We ended paying over $100...

I went to this bar to sing karaoke and have a great time with my friends, however.. the energy was cut short for me. Idk why but when I sang my song.. it even got cut in half, didn’t even do half of the song before it got cut off. I felt the lady in charge of Karoake was taking something personal against me because she skipped me on another turn as well.. and when I went up to ask about it , I had the owner telling me something .. all because I was trying to figure out if I was next.. I didn’t appreciate that at all because I had got referred to this place as it should’ve been good.. however the fact that the lady in the karaoke was trying to take over herself only .. was not cool at all. My name was signed before one of my friends.. however , she completely skipped me and chose the song of my friend which was a duet she was going to do too so she personally preferred herself over the customers. My song was cut short and I just didn’t feel the good vibes, the owner and the lady in charge of the Karoake here are HATERS. For absolutely NO reason at all. Owner came up to me and wanted to get me out because I said that I was in line before my friend… however the karaoke lady was clearly being possessive over the mic so like it’s just very selfish vibes … not at all what a karaoke place...
