I don't usually leave bad reviews, I rather express my concerns in person or leave a review for a good experience but I will post a bad review this time hoping the owners will see it and do something about it. I went in today with my family. I choose to go to Zamora's from McColl because it's closer to my house and I assumed I would be getting the same amazing service I get on the one on 23rd (which i go to quite often) but I WAS WRONG. My aunt traveld 8 hours to come and visit and I wanted to take her for some good breakfast with the rest of our family. We were 9, to start It took VERY long for us to be seated, which I understood because we were 9 so That is not my main complain, When we finally get called in (over 30 min later) we get seated on a table for 6 with 3 extra chairs (very tight & uncomfortable) The waitress seemed impatient to get our orders and couldn't even place a smile on her face. Out of our party of 9, 4 were children and they were last to be served. This is the first time I see this, at other places they bring all food together or serve the kids first and then the adults, kids are impatient and as a mom you don't want to star eating while your kids stare at you. It was not until WE ASKED they brought us chips for us to much on while the food was ready (which also took very long). When the food finally arrives we had to have them take 2 plates back (1 of them twice) because they were not made right and the barbacoa was cold. We kept trying to get the waitresses attention, for more coffe or other things we needed, but she would not pay attention and the other waitresses wouldn't either, I'm guessing since it's not their table, except for this young man with the last name Rodriguez who helped when he would see us looking around (he even helped taking a picture of our family) he was kind and had a smile on all the time. Other than that the service that the waitress provided and the quality of the food was NOT what i was expecting at all. To top it off when I'm about to pay I ask who was in charge and the two ladies at the front said they were. I went ahead and expressed all my concern and they did not seem too caring about my concerns they asked me if I wrote down on the front we were 9 when I arrived and i said yes, they looked at each other back and forth and not too willingly apologized and charged my card. This is not good service, not from the staff not from "the ladies in charge" the only nice was the young gentleman who helped several times, most places would at least give a discount for the visit or your next visit. When I go to the one on 23rd all waitresses help each other wether it's their table or not and I can say service there is WAY better. On McColl in the other hand they don't know how to work together and are too rushed. Maybe they need MORE staff or BETTER staff but I know I rather drive the extra miles or go to another restaurant rather than go spend my money on bad service. Not the experience I was hoping for my aunt to get, and mostly disappointed that there wasn't anyone who pays attention to detail since point one (when we were seated on a table for 6). Very...
Read moreVery disgusted with the hostess behavior on McColl and Dove...my family and I have been going every Sat and Sun for the past 3 months needless to say we have become somewhat regulars. We were waiting to be seated for a possible party of 5 not sure if it was gonna be just my children joining me or my aunt as well. Hostess kept asking are they here yet...We told her they were in traffic on the way but we were going to place our order for the whole table any way. After seating all the people ahead of us and having six to eight tables next to each other and empty...she tells us I cant sit u unless 3 are present... so I tell her can u make an exception my wife is pregnant doesnt feel well and needs to eat, we can order for the entire table...her response rules are rules sorry we "might" get busy. I asked if I could speak to a manager to make an exception (at this point my wife is feeling faint and feeling shaky)...her response sorry he is out I can give you a number and email. My wife gets up asks who else is in charge she says we all are the cashiers. ok then who is above you to make an exception....Nobody she responds.. my wife demands she call the manager....my wife asked another older lady behind the counter who seemed to be in charge...if she could make an exception cuz she felt faint and sick...the hostess comes to interrupt her (as she is telling me there is not a problem to go ahead and sit) and saying she is sorry rules are rules....my wife at this point is so upset she has raised her voice...then the hostess very sarcastically says "well just go ahead and sit" making a jester to go sit at the prepared table...We only stayed because I don't think my wife would have made it to another restaurant without passing out. The waitress was very kind and rushed a sweet tea and cup of menudo to us the second we sat down. My children walked in seconds later.
If the restaurant was over packed and there were no tables available or the wait list was long we would understand. We were not asking to be sat out of turn.... But this was a situation where she was rude, stubborn and mean for no reason. All that was asked of her was to make an exception before my wife would have been in need of medical assistance.
In my opinion your hostess need to be retrained in...
Read moreBeen a customer for this place for so many years since it opened. and in the last four months they have made three mistakes to my to-go orders. Today was the last straw. Being someone that works in the service industry I know a few things like your customer should always be taken care of correctly. Today I sent one of my family members to pick up an order for me it was huevos rancheros and biscuits with sausage and gravy. I received the huevos ranchero fine but they gave me the hardest biscuits I've ever had without the sausage and gravy. And when I called and told them they told me they would get started on a new order the correct way for me when I get there the lady tells me that I have to pay the difference of $2 because I didn't receive the sausage and the gravy. So I pay for that, they take forever to give me the order at which point the food that I had already gotten that I left at home was already getting cold then when they give me the bag with a box in it I realize that they gave me a small one instead of the large to-go boxes usually goes in. It usually comes in a large box with three slices and gravy and sausage poured on top.. usually it's nice and soft and flaky. This time it came in a small box with gravy flowing out of it into the bag and getting everything dirty. The silverware they gave me I was not able to put the fork into the biscuit. That's how burnt and hard they where. The owners or management need to step up their game because this place is quickly gone downhill from what it used to be and now I'm done, done, DONE with this place.. y'all should take care of your customers first, stop with those weird surcharges, stop with all the rules on your specials cuz let me be the one to tell you, you are not the only Mexican-American restaurant here. Take some pride in what y'all do it is called the service industry for a reason. It's to service your guess with a hundred percent satisfaction where I work if any mistakes ever happen which hardly ever do we make sure to make it right and make it fast so we can continue to see are lovely...
