Was hoping this place was a golden gem for a fantastic dive restaurant. I was wrong. The positive reviews on this place is baffling outside the friendly and good service staff, the restaurant is not well kept, and the food was sub par. To put it short, find a fazoli's the food will be better. We ordered Tortellini Alfredo that barely had any sauce but smothered in probably half a block of mozzarella, and the Stromboli that was poorly made. First off they make it similar to their calzones which are split open top revealing a pile of mozzarella over the filling. It's far from a traditional Stromboli and pretty far from a traditional Calzone. That's ok, I like a good twist on traditional foods sometimes. However the Stromboli barely had any meat, was 90% melted mozzarella, raw undercooked onion and green bell pepper that gave an over powering crunch and bitterness to the dish. The dough was almost impossible to cut into, and I'm very much a pro out the marinara inside the Stromboli type of person but that wouldn't save it. Maybe pizza is their thing... It didn't look terrible but neither did the Stromboli when it came out. I will give them this, the server realized they made my dish wrong before serving it, had it remade, and gave us a free cheesecake slice that was pretty tasty actually. Overall, between the place being held together by duct tape (literally), a random patron casually walking into the kitchen, and poor tasting dishes we won't...
Read moreAbsolutely outstanding food and great pricing. Not open late. Closing at 9:00 PM on a Friday night. Poor selection of draft beer too....
Our entire family had had a late lunch so we opted for a reduced portion which we were told was available (spaghetti plate). We assumed a lunch portion was coming. What we did NOT assume was that the reduced portion was only $1.oo off the standard price. DUH! For a buck we would have simply taken the rest home in a to-go box.
Lastly we had coupons off for which we were absolutely eligible for but they refused to take them and told us we had to print them out. This really infuriated me as our fav eating places email me offers all the time and all I have to do is let them scan my phone or show to the waiter. No problem. So essentially for $62.00 I got 3 plates of spaghetti and a calazone. NOT A...
Read moreMy husband and I drove by this place at least a couple of times a week. We finally got curious enough, especially due to the ratings. The first impression is that it is definitely a hole in the wall, but it gives off the good ole mom and pop vibe. Inside is a little dated, and you're seated pretty close to others. With the way it is set up, I get there isn't much of a choice. We immediately got greeted with a smile and seated. Our server Sally was wonderful. Since we were new she explained the menu and a little about the restaurant and the favorite dishes. My husband and I settled on Bruschetta to start. It was not like others I've tried. But still very delicious with fresh bread. For our mains, we had the cheese trio (Manicotti, ziti, and ravioli) and just Manicotti. It was fresh and delicious, and the fillings had wonderful flavors. I couldn't leave without having a cannoli. And oh my word, it was so good. I couldn't stop thinking about it. 10/10 I'm so glad we took the chance and gave this...
