ADDIKTIVE Blended Flavas — Restaurant in McDonough

If zero stars was a thing I would have! This place is very unprofessional! And customer service SUCKS! No greeting upon entry for starters.There was a wait as customers stood around someone yelled we will be with all that haven’t ordered shortly! I make my way to the counter and the older waiter just stares I asked are you ready to take my order? Then proceeds to take the order as I’m asking questions because this is my first time here she goes “HUH” or “What” as if she doesn’t know what I’m asking, I repeat my question a lil louder “ Can I have jerk gravy over the rice” asking if she heard me this time and she looks and say no that only comes with that chicken and continues to make the plate as if it bothered her to answer a question. Gets to the counter I tell the gentleman my order and again ask if I could have jerk gravy with my plate he did advise it will be an up charge and would have to be on the side. Now I’ve spent my entire lunch break here just to get back to the office and it’s a gooey some over the chicken . I call the restaurant and a young lady answered I say hey I just left told her my order and was wondering what was the gooey jelly like substance on the chicken? She says it’s all precooked and probably not heated enough or uncooked but wasn’t sure and ask me to hold while she ask the manager. Comes back to the phone say yeah it’s probably not done I advised I was enroute back and to have my refund ready.Never mentioned the plantains looked jerk as they were burnt . Got back to the store I show the plate to the same gentleman that check me out previously and he runs a fork through the plate and says it look like chicken broth but he will ask someone else, a lady from the back comes up then again run the fork through the plate and tell me it’s mashed potatoes and carrots . I explain well the person I spoke with on the phone suggested it may be undercooked or heated. The gentleman say that was a customer who answered and she don’t really know but it looks done we cook fresh daily but I’ll just give you another plate since we dug all thru this one guess my face told a story my mouth didn’t because the gentleman said if your not going to eat it I’ll just refund you your money. Had I knew golden krust was just the next light up I would of had lunch and a wayyyyy better experience 0/10...

This year I decided to cater my Christmas dinner so I could enjoy more time with my family and less in the kitchen. After deciding we wanted to go the Caribbean route I checked out restaurants near my home for catering options. I had been hearing about a restaurant called Addiktive Blended Flavas and how delicious the food was so I decided to reach out to them and pop in to try a few items before making a decision and I’m so glad I did. OMG… the food I bought to sample was amazing and extremely favorable! I ordered Rasta pasta, ox-tails, macaroni & cheese, brown stew chicken, rice & peas, cabbage and vegetable patties. After we devoured our “sample” dinner we knew this was the resultant to cater our holiday meal. I worked with one of the owners on food selections and was impressed with the many menu choices, including a vast selection of vegetarian options. His quick responses to my emails, fair pricing and first class customer service let me know I was making the right choice. Christmas Eve, I picked up the pans and was given instructions on storage and the best way reheat for dinner the next day. The ride home was unbearable, the food smelled so good I just wanted to pull over and dig in! Christmas dinner was a hit and my family was more than pleased with my selections. Our menu consisted of rice & peas, cabbage, Rasta pasta, jerk pork, jerk tofu, brown stew chicken, curry shrimp, plantains and coco bread. Everything was delish and the only dish we kind of struggled with was the jerk. It was spicy, not that lingering burn that you can’t shake, but more than we were used too. We are wimps so I know now to order mild jerk if there is such a thing. The pan/portion sizes were generous and we had more than enough for all present, they went back for seconds & thirds, and a few take home plates. I am an Addiktive Blended Flavas fan and will use them again and again for my catering needs. I recommend them to anyone who has large or small catering needs, or just casual takeout on a day you don’t feel like spending time in the kitchen. Hubby had been talking about oxtails all weekend and after taking me to a dr's appointment, we stopped in to this establishment. OMGEEE! I am so glad we did. We first went to Golden Krust and I did not get out the car because I didn't like the food the first time we went. When we got to this location, I was pulling up reviews. They were excellent, so I got out. When I tell you my taste buds are STILL dancing. I had their lunch special with fried fresh salmon. I had never had that before outside of a croquette. That was AMAZING!!! I had cabbage and spinach rice. My hubby had his large oxtails plate with white rice and black eyed peas. I tasted his too! We sat down and ate and before we left, we ordered dinner. I ordered another salmon plate with just cabbage. He ordered jerk chicken. Their lunch portions are a little small, but for $8 you can get full because the rice alone is plentiful. The restaurant cleanliness was immaculate. Don't drive by this little spot that is attached to a gas station. We will be making the drive again to enjoy some vittles from here. Awesome! Now one of the ladies behind the counter making plates wasn't the friendliest person. No matter how nice I was, she was still a little rough around the edges. Of course when I told her the food was awesome and we were getting two more plates, I saw a half of a smile, but thankfully the other nicer lady made our second order and actually gave me a whole piece of salmon versus the not so nice lady giving me a piece of a piece the first time. When I asked her, she said "well it is a lunch special." Service matters as well as the taste of food.
